About this property
Secluded A-frame near Waxhaw
Tucked away in the woods, our Alpine-style A-frame home offers a cozy, character-filled escape for guests seeking relaxation and connection with nature.
Surrounded by mature trees, this family-friendly retreat features wood interiors, two living rooms, and four outdoor spaces — including an upper deck and lower patio overlooking the forest and lawn; a patio with grill and fireplace; and a screened porch in sight of the play-set and forest trails.
The space
Welcome! We’re a family who loves the outdoors, books, coffee, and quality time. Our chalet in the woods helps us take life slower, stay connected with nature, and enjoy time with each other.
We love sharing that experience with others who are looking for the same kind of rest and connection. Whether you’re roasting marshmallows around the fire, exploring the woods, or just curling up with a book, we hope our retreat helps you unwind and make great memories.
The Setting
Follow our 300-meter driveway through the woods to reach the chalet. Our location feels secluded—especially when the trees are full—but it's still close to charming downtown Waxhaw and historic Monroe.
Wander the short walking trails surrounding the property, sit and drink coffee on deck, and in the evenings, light the outdoor fireplace and enjoy the sounds of the surrounding forest.

Other things to note
A Few Things to Note
- This is our personal home, so you’ll notice signs of real family life—we call it character!
- Some belongings remain in the house, including books, DVDs, and board games—feel free to use them.
- The setting is quiet and rural, though you might occasionally hear distant traffic or a train (the local Waxhaw train is part of the charm!).
- The hot tub is currently out of order.
- The gas grill works but shows its age.
- Some doors have scratches from our dog—part of the story of our well-loved home.
