About this property

Welcome to Your Artful, Tranquil Retreat in Sedona Shadows!

Nestled in Sedona’s most charming (and only?) 40+-year-old manufactured home community, this beautifully curated home is surrounded by old-growth trees, lovingly kept properties, and an unmistakable sense of peace. It’s quiet, serene, and wonderfully convenient—your perfect Sedona landing spot.

Inside, you’ll find a home that’s both artful and deeply functional. We’ve stocked it thoughtfully with essentials you won’t find in many rentals: spices, olive oil, baking basics, butter, salt, and more. No need to run out for the small things—you can settle right in and start enjoying your stay.

This home carries meaning for us. We purchased it last spring to care for my husband’s parents during their final chapter. As circumstances changed, we made the difficult but compassionate decision to move them into care. His mother passed in September, and his father remains in a nursing facility. We now rent this lovely home to help offset the ongoing costs and to keep us close for visits and appointments, while spending winters in Mexico.

We’re experienced and well-reviewed hosts—formerly on VRBO with a successful duplex rental and active on Furnished Finder with excellent feedback.

Location, location, location:
You’re minutes from Sedona’s world-class hiking trails and viewpoints, and only 7 minutes from Whole Foods, Natural Grocers, and other essentials. Everything you need is truly close by.

We especially welcome guests who are eco-minded and who appreciate an odor-free, chemical-free home (absolutely no synthetic scents, sprays, or Fabreze). Primary renter must be 55 years old.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-appointed, soul-soothing place to stay while exploring Sedona, this is it.

My husband Bill and I are lifelong learners and lovers of life- healthy, curious, and always up for an adventure. We've dedicated ourselves to seed conservation (Bill since the 1980s) and to teaching the importance of seed saving as a path toward independence and self-sufficiency. Whether hiking a mountain trail or exploring new ideas on YouTube, we are always discovering, learning, and growing.

Why they chose this property

This is a sweet neighborhood with lots of older trees and cared-for properties. When Bill stopped doing 24/7 care for his aging parents it became apparent we would not be able to keep up on our 1.6 acre permaculture property in Cornville, Az and after almost 25 years sold it. We all moved into Sedona Shadows so Bill could be close to the folks for ongoing care. After four months they were moved into a nursing facility. We lost his Mom in September and his father continues care in Cottonwood. We liked the property's proximity to the entire Verde Valley especially stores and restaurants in Sedona. We spend winters in Mexico but wanted to have the house availalbe for visits to see his Dad and for us to take care of various appointments.

What makes this property unique

What makes our property unique is how quiet and peaceful it is. Also it is right across from Dry Creek, a path to hiking and lots of open space we failed to notice upon moving their initially. We did a lot of hiking while there.
