Absolutely clean basement apartment that is totally renovated. We replaced the kitchen with a breakfast area that includes a table, chairs, microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker. Perfect for people who want to eat and snack but not fuss with cooking. The living room has a nice sofa, matching chair and wide screen TV. It is comfortable for your short term stay with more room than most hotels. Driveway parking is included. In a quiet and safe family neighborhood yet only one block to buses which take you to MBTA in 5 minutes with access to all Boston. If driving; downtown Boston, Harvard Square, MIT or Tufts can be reached within 12 minutes, Rt 93 in 2 minutes. Minimum stay 3 nights April-Sep 2022. Must down and climb stairs-this is a basement apartment.

It's a very comfortable, neat and convenient place to stay, I met Claudia on my first day and she showed me the way in, a lovely host! We were able to find everything we needed close by and the sites I wanted to see were within short driving distance.

Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful stay. The host was very accommodating. The property was extremely clean. The location is extremely close to the bus line which gets you to the subway orange line very quickly. I had never ridden a subway before and was able to figure out the system to this location with ease.The property was also extremely quiet. Nice selection of quick dining options close by.

We enjoyed our stay at Claudia and Tim’s place. It is just like the pictures on the website. Our main complaint was the stairs down into the basement apartment. They are very narrow and there is no railing. (To be honest, there’s really no room for one.) There is a landing that you step on and around the door to turn on a light switch to help you see to go down the stairs. If you come in at night like we usually did, you have to be careful you don’t miss a step reaching around for the switch. (We started just leaving it on.) It is also hard to get up and down these stairs with luggage.

Beds were terrible

We were looking for a place to stay when we visit our granddaughter. Location was just what we were looking for. However, the beds were terrible. We only needed a place to sleep and one bed was a lumpy mattress and the other was a coil box spring covered with a thin mattress pad. The shower was all very small. We are not large people but there was no room to even turn around. It was about 2’ by 3’. We will not be returning on out next trip.

A great home base

This apartment was a perfect home base for me for a stay centered in Somerville. Clean, quiet, walkable. The 89 bus is minutes away and gets you to Davis Square easily and from there you can go anywhere.

Arriving was difficult because it is a very dark street and hard to read or even see the house numbers. The light at the door of the apartment is motion sensor so the light was off when I arrived and I couldn’t see where I was going. Had to call Claudia to find the door. The television had terrible reception and I could only watch maybe three or four channels regularly and they don’t pay for cable. Normally that is fine but the reception was terrible. Couldn’t even watch the Celtics game. Lots of stomping upstairs. At time it sounded like furniture was being dragged on the floor. It was loud and annoying during my stay. Found two centipedes in the bathroom the third day I was there. Made sure I wore slippers in the apartment. Lastly, need a car to get around to places to eat. Took a lot of Ubers. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Little bump in getting in unit, called owner and housekeeper came right over, unit very clean, well appointed, but not for tall or large people. Twin bed would have worked without footboard.
