About the host
Hosted by Jacob Caress
I am originally from Southern California & now I reside in Cleveland, Ohio. I went to school here and have stayed since. I work for Eaton Corporation as a Lead Analyst full-time and rent out my home for select months of the year while traveling. I love being a host because of many reasons, but primarily it is an amazing way to welcome people visiting this amazing city while also ensuring the home gets its proper use and love throughout the year. I truly enjoy reading about the fun experiences my guests have - my favorite part is providing recommendations and offering ideas for places to eat or visit and hearing how much they enjoyed their time. While I am not a professional property manager or anything of the sort, I can guarantee that all guests will get a spectacular, personable interaction with me that surpasses any other option you may come across. It is a great passion of mine & I get excited every time a new guest arrives!
Why they chose this property
There are not enough words allowed here to fully describe this neighborhood - it is perfect in so many ways. The houses are all unique and full of charm. Most homes were built in the early to mid 20th century, meaning the character is plentiful and quality is high. All the neighbors are friends and the community is tight-knit. There are numerous events throughout the year, from block parties to parades. The landscaping is a highlight as each property adds their own taste while the city upkeeps public spaces, trees, and walking paths. The cherry on top is the row of shops on Fairmount Boulevard that are walking distance from this home - it holds the best bakery in town, On the Rise, along with an amazing, chic bistro called Gigi's on Fairmount. Both are stellar and the neighborhood is lucky to have them so close. All in all, the safety, community, and environment here make this neighborhood, in my opinion, the best in all of Cleveland.
What makes this property unique
Aside from the neighborhood, I am truly blessed to own a property like this and be able to open it to visitors to enjoy. The home was built in 1922 and has received many upgrades throughout the years. The dark, hardwood floors are the standout throughout the home. The kitchen was remodeled in 2015 with state-of-the-art appliances and new built-in cabinets. The layout of the bottom floor is spacious and well thought out, allowing for all sorts of hosting and dinner ideas.
While improvements were made, they kept the integrity and charm of the original home with the built-it storage and wood benchmark - and, tons of windows. The bedrooms upstairs are the perfect size with a centrally located full bathroom. The backyard and outdoor spaces are what make the home special. The three level deck with a perfect view of a lawn and massive oak tree is perfect for lounging and hanging out. When winter arrives, there is a covered patio at the front of the house for when you need a breath of fresh air or protection from the elements. All in all, I am certain that every guest will have their wows when they arrive - this place cannot be described with just words.
