The Luana hotel is located in western Waikiki, with a great variety of places nearly at its doorsteps. Just a few steps away from the building is a large concentration of shopping centers, such as Luxury Row, BeachWalk, and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. As well as an ever-evolving scene of cafes, happy hours, international cuisine, and late-night bars to relax at with an exotic island refreshment.

There is truly no end to the stores to wander through, unique dining options, and entertainment such as Hula lessons or cultural shows closeby. There are several bus stops near the Luana building. There is also a Biki rental bike stand nearby, which can be used to explore Waikiki.

Disappointing experience
Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: By following the check-in indication, I passed the front of the Luana Waikiki at 15:40 but I could not get the keys because the agency did not send the order sheet. The hotel assistant called the agency to send the sheet immediately by fax but it did not executed... for a while. I also tried to call the office but only the voice message... Finally, we need to wait that sheet for one hour in front of the hotel reception desk....

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was as described. There’s a new couch in the living room and a new furniture set was delivered on the lanai while we were there. The lanai was great with views from three sides! The time we were there in late February early March it was a little windy, so we only got to spend limited time on the lanai but it was wonderful. The two balconies are actually where we spent most of our time outside. The kitchen is well stocked on cooking and eating utensils, but I was surprised to find that there was nothing food related there such as salt and pepper or cooking oil. There was plenty of toilet paper and paper towels and coffee filters, but only one extra garbage bag for the kitchen garbage and very few dishwasher detergent packets. It is within walking distance of the beach and many restaurants and bars. We had a minor issue with the check in procedure because they were changing from one process to the other but that should be taken care of now.

The balcony and location are what makes rental
We enjoyed the location and the great balcony. The hotel the condo is located in is well kept and the staff is friendly. The views from the balcony are great and the location is wonderful. You are close to Waikiki without being in the busy part and a quick walk to the beach. However, communication with the management company was frustrating. Check out instructions said to get key from front desk at check in. At arrival the front desk said we needed a code for lock box. When I called they were confused, and it took about 20 minutes for them to call back with lock box code. Frustrating, but oh well. Things happen. The condo wasn’t very clean. It has a mildew type smell when you first walk in.You can see signs of water damage along the lower walls. The AC filters need changed.The living room furniture is a bit grimy. The patio was swept and the pile of debris left in a corner. But it was also missing the hammock and all dish/ kitchen towels. There was one measuring cup… 1/3 cup. Which is not a huge deal, but weird. We didn’t do much cooking, but if you are planning to cook alot, the kitchen might not be well stocked. Without getting into too much, I will just say that I found the management company difficult to clearly communicate with. And I was frustrated by incorrect or poor communication at the end. I am not usually one to have to ask questions or bother with hosts much. So this is not a usual problem for me. Overall, the balcony and location made this stay enjoyable.
