Our property includes a few hosts onsite that are all family and PASSIONATE about this ranch, all that it offers, and ultimately, its’ success. Because of this, we believe we offer a all hands on deck, immersive informative, and inclusive experience from our hosts’ and hostess’. From full property tours, hayrides and cookouts, unique viewings of our working ranch and everything that a “day at the ranch” entails, interactive one on one with our animals, sunset rides and nighttime fire pit chats with s’mores- we really believe in our place and it’s offerings of a true utopia

If peace and solitude is what you’re looking for, you’ve found it! Located at the end of a secluded country road, Rockin’ Star Ranch is a luxurious getaway where time seems to stand still. RSR is about escaping urban life to re-connect with family, friends and all that nature has to offer. This VRBO listing is actually 1 of 10 different listings located on the ranch (sleeps 50+ adults) Garden cottage can be booked under this listing or the entire ranch can be booked under its own Rockin Star ranch listing. Guests are welcome to use the outdoor bar, the pool, fish in our ponds, observe and maybe even feed the animals, explore our property, and tour our event venue. Our amenities include an outdoor kitchen, pool, large pastures, tire swings, courtyards, cabins, fishing ponds (catch and release), the woods, and a game room which is located in the garage of the main house. Game room has ping pong, darts, horse shoes, corn hole and a telescope! Interested in horseback riding? A hayride? Maybe want to experience a day in the life of a cowboy? Beautiful place to stay

This place is a dream! The sunsets are beautiful. The house is cozy and stylish. The beds were comfortable and plenty of seating in the house and outside to relax and unwind. If you’re looking to get away from the big city, this is your place! We had a sister weekend and definitely will come here again! Thanks so much Rockin’ Star Ranch!

Always Incredible

I travel to Brenham often for work. RSR is ALWAYS my go to place to stay if they have availability. The staff are super friendly, the property is beautiful and the cabins are immaculately clean. I HIGHLY recommend! I consider Darrell and his team great friends since I have gotten to know them better. Schedule a horseback ride…AMAZING!

Wonderful get away!

After seeing all the great reviews of this property I had to check it out and it did not disappoint! My kids absolutely loved being on the ranch. Our host Darrell was fantastic and let the kids feed the horses and the pigs and the cows and baby fawns. He took us on a hay ride every night and was always super accommodating. The kids loved running around the property and swimming in the pool. We loved the whole experience. We will be back for sure!

A piece of heaven!

This is an amazing paradise in the hills and truly a piece of heaven! We loved our visit and hosts were very helpful and accommodating. The common area was picture perfect, fun fishing and pool picture perfect! The room decor was perfect as well as the bed! Loved the comfy bed, linens and beautiful bed spread and chairs! We loved the beauty of this place and the family commitment to it! The love of this family is shown throughout! Thank you for an amazing adventure! Perfect country getaway with the family

This was our second time visiting Rockin Star Ranch and it is an amazing place! We went to celebrate my son's 7th birthday because it was the only place he wanted to go! My kids (ages 9 and 7) love roaming the ranch and playing with the animals (horses, goats, emu, puppies). My husband and I love being able to relax while the kids roam. The ranch has tons of games and activities for all. The cabins are super quaint and comfortable. Darrell is an excellent host - he feels more like a longtime friend than a stranger! He is very warm and welcoming and truly makes guests feel at home. A lovely ranch perfect for a relaxing getaway. We will be back many more times!

Incredible Ranch Getaway

Rockin A ranch is an incredible experience! This really is a luxury vacation on a ranch. The owners are friendly and there to include you on the daily activities - from feeding the pigs, playing with the goats and brushing the horses. The grounds are filled with non-screen activities- like pool and ping pong and the fire pit was the perfect evening activity. The cabins are also very tasteful - comfortable beds and well designed spaces. Plus the coffee was good. On top of that the views are gorgeous. The weather was cool in February (we actually had snow and ice our first night) so we didn’t use the outside kitchen and instead picked up food in Brenham (about 15 min away) and had some microwave meals (oatmeal for breakfast and chicken soup for lunch). We will be back in the summer to lounge in the pool!

Never got an email. Didnt have gate code. Garbage truck let us in. No one to talk to. Man we called was a little rude. Couldn't find the other beds. Finally found air matts. Bathroom sink wldnt drain. No coffee, no water. No washclothes. Loved the 2 kitties that viodted ud

Cozy and ranch-tastic!!

Needed a little R&R, and that’s exactly what I got. My daughter and I had a great time. When we arrived through the gates of heaven, we followed the road down to our gorgeous cabin. We walked in and talk about amazing. The cabin is decorated so nicely. The attention to detail is just ridiculous. Garden cottage was so beautiful. We arrived around 5:30 so, we made dinner (full kitchen by the way) and enjoyed our meal on the back patio! In the morning we had spectacular views of the pastures and all its beauty. Sunrises are just unreal, and here at Rockin’ Star they are even better. We were able to get a trail ride in that morning, and loved it. The staff was very attentive, and extremely helpful. Darrell recommended a few places in town for lunch and dinner on our last day. All in all we can’t wait to go back. Thanks to everyone involved to make our visit unforgettable!

Ideal place to take a moment and just breathe!

From the moment I submitted the first inquiry to the drive away from the property on our way back home - I knew this was the best decision I could have made for our family’s time away this summer. It isn’t easy to find a place that works for a group my size. (2 adults, and 8 kids - with ages ranging from 20 down to 7). But the ranch not only offers lodging but opportunities for all to enjoy each other and the incredible beauty that is Texas country. The owner, Darryl, is fantastic. He answered all my many many questions before arriving and really shined when we were on property. He was available whenever he was needed and truly went above and beyond to make sure we were all enjoying our time at the ranch. If I could sum up our trip and how my family feels about it - it’s by sharing this: ALL my kids are already asking to go back! Thank you Darryl, for a wonderful time away to recharge and enjoy your beautiful property. We plan to be back again!

Road trip to Round Top with friends during the day and relaxing ranch retreat under the stars in the evening! Where do I begin? Not certain but encouraged by the photos and descriptions on HomeAway, we booked a one night stay for a group of four mom friends looking for a quick but quaint getaway from the hustle & busy of mothering teens & Rockin Star Ranch was chosen! We couldn’t have been more pleased with our selection. The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The accommodations were luxuriously comfortable and the host bent over backwards to ensure our happiness while in his care. From our “off roading” private tour of the property to our upclose encounters with the mini horses, goats, & pot belly pigs, we were given such great treatment that we felt utterly spoiled & sad when it was time to leave. The clear night sky and the calm and quiet sounds of nature was so soothing and helped to ground us with appreciation of our visit. You won’t be disappointed should you choose this property! We will definitely be making a return trip. Thank you Darrell for going above & beyond for us - you made us feel special and cared for!

Awesome time at Rockin Star Ranch!

Rocking Star Ranch is beautiful. Our family had the best time catching up and making memories together. First we checked out all the animals in the barn, then we cooled off in the pool. Later that evening we got enjoy some horse back riding, we also stargazed and saw many constellations before heading off to bed in our cottage. Darryl was a great host and very easy to communicate with. I’m looking forward to our next trip out to Rockin Star Ranch!

An Amazing Place to Stay

We booked 2 of the cabins at the Rockin Star Ranch (Garden Cottage and Shooting Star). They are just as Darrell describes them plus more. What he leaves out is how AMAZING his whole ranch is! This is a fully functioning ranch but it he opens it up to all his guests. My granddaughter is 5 and she had a blast! We've been home for 4 days now and she still can't stop talking about it. It is a great place to go swimming, go for a hike, pet the horses, go fishing or just plain relax. You get the convenience of a hotel (microwave, mini fridge, swimming pools, etc) plus the rustic qualities of a campground (fire pit, grill outside, fishing, etc). The beds are extremely comfortable. I would heartily recommend this to any family who is looking to escape the craziness of life for a couple of days.

Beautiful countryside cottage-living ranch. Fishing, swimming, relax and so much more.

We’ve visited the Rockin’ Star Ranch twice now and both times it has been amazing. We love the interaction with all the animals, the crystal clear swimming pool, the clean multi-purpose outdoor kitchen in the court yard and the quant clean, ranch-style sleeping cottages. So many fun activities for kids from a seesaw, horseshoes, sidewalk chalk, ping pong, swimming, fishing and plenty of sidewalk for riding bikes. The evening hayride is a special bonus for all. If you’re looking for a spectacular get-a-way not far from Houston or Austin and near Brenham, this is the place. It also has a large venue for weddings and events that we haven’t used but looks beautiful.

My daughter didn't want to leave!

We had a great time here. Darrell, the owner, was super friendly and made every effort to make our time there enjoyable. From providing cabin essentials right down to pool towels and marshmallow skewers. My daughter loved the animals, we were able to feed horses, baby deer and even cows (during the hayride). Though we never fished (which he also provides poles and lures) the lake was lovely. My daughter, as we were driving away, said "Mom, can we please come back?" We'll definitely be back!

Heartland Perfection

Accommodations, facilities, and owner/operator are all top-notch. I couldn't have dreamed up a better location for our short, laid-back family getaway. The owner is wonderful and warm. This is reflected in his treatment of guests, the unexpected and brilliant creative uses of the property, and the excellent condition of all of the happy animals on the ranch. I'm honestly surprised I was able to book the property last minute and didn't want to leave. This establishment is the type of place that would typically have a waitlist. Thanks so much to the owner who truly went above and beyond to ensure my family was comfortable and enjoyed our getaway! *BONUS* Happy animals at the ranch: bald eagles, pigs, goats, (bottle-fed a baby axis deer named "Axl",) horses (including a colt!) and miniature horses, oryx, elk, aoudad sheep, cattle, chickens, pigs, pheasants, and the resident husky.

Rockin Star Ranch Garden Cottage

We have stayed on this property a few times now but this was our first in the Garden Cottage. My girls and I enjoyed every second of our stay at Rockin Star Ranch this past weekend and every other time we’ve been! The Garden Cottage was cozy, comfortable and all the amenities and decor were above and beyond. Darrell the host was attentive, easily accessible and gave us a ton of extra attention making our stay that much better. Thank you so much for always going the extra mile to make sure we have fun and feel like part of the family! The girls enjoyed exploring the ranch, playing with all of the animals, releasing ducks and so much more. We can’t wait to come back.
