Escape to this adorable cottage built in 1965 as a fisherman's cabin in picturesque Athens with views of Lake Wheeler. Enjoy three spacious bedrooms, featuring two comfortable queen size beds and 2 double beds.. The bathroom is equipped with a full size tub, shower, double sinks and laundry area for added convenience. Whether you’re cooling off or warming up, the cottage offers both air conditioning, heating, TV's and wifi to keep you comfortable year-round. Complete with a second floor balcony, an outdoor fire pit and indoor wood burning brick fireplace. Simple things like new appliances with modern touches like full size refrigerator with ice maker and filtered water, full size stove and oven. Just like home you have a dishwasher, microwave and coffee makers. There is plenty of comfortable seating including a dining area for eight that makes this cottage easy to feel right at home. Not to mention the 3 spout beer kegorator bar on the spacious front porch. Plenty of parking for several cars and boats. Guests can unwind and relax after a day of exploring the Lake around the community or nearby Lucy's Branch Marina featuring seasonal live music food and fun. Experience what Athens and the Tennessee River has to offer with a stay at our fantastic cottage. Pet friendly and plenty of yard to roam.

Pictures don’t do the cabin justice. We’ve stayed at other properties on VRBO and have been slightly let down. This was beyond our expectations. Decorations are as thoughtful as the owners reaching out to see if they had any age appropriate toys for our little ones. My little daughter was sad to leave and asked if we could return soon, to which we replied, “Absolutely!”

Why they chose this property

Reel Sunset is just that. It is a place where I can unwind from the noise of life and take in the fresh air. Hear the birds and the water of lake wheeler. It is so peaceful. My happy place. In the fall you can get a full view of the lake and the sunsets are Amazing from the upper and lower decks. The neighbors are friendly and watch out for eachother. A pleasant community for sure.

What makes this property unique

Originally built in 1965 as a fishermans cabin. It has been added on over the years but maintains the spirit and feel of a cabin in the woods. I would say it stands out in the neighborhood just by the way it sits perched over the surrounding pennensula and riverfront neighbors. To me its special.
