Urban Farmhouse Stay in the Heart of Cedar Rapids
Experience Cedar Rapids like a local in our wonderfully updated Urban Farmhouse, a comfortable three-bedroom, two-bathroom home ideal for families, friends, and business travelers. This home is thoughtfully refurbished and recently refreshed with a true farmhouse atmosphere, combining comfort, character, and convenience.
The property has a big, easy-flowing layout with cozy meeting spaces, comfortable bedrooms, and modern facilities such as central heating and air conditioning to provide a comfortable stay in any season. After a day of exploring, it's the ideal spot to relax and feel at home.
This bright two-story farmhouse on our urban farm features a fully stocked kitchen, laundry, living room, master bedroom, and two full bathrooms on the main floor. The master bedroom is furnished with a comfortable king bed. The second story includes a bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with a both a standard and a twin bed.

This farmhouse has a meaningful past. After the devastating 2008 Cedar Rapids flood, the home was purchased by local nonprofit Matthew 25 and fully renovated by AmeriCorps, helping restore strength and stability to the neighborhood. More recently, the home has been thoughtfully updated to reflect the warm, inviting farmhouse style you’ll enjoy today.
Matthew 25’s mission is to revitalize neighborhoods through quality housing, healthy food access, education, and community building. When you stay here, you directly support that mission—making your visit both comfortable and impactful.This early 1900s farmhouse is newly renovated by Matthew 25, a nonprofit organization working to improve neighborhoods through quality housing, healthy food, education, and community building. Acres of green space and gardens sit just steps from the river and minutes to I-380 and downtown Cedar Rapids. This working urban farm offers easy access to local entertainment, walking trails and parks.

Please note: There is a large construction site to the north of the property which may contribute noise and dust during work hours.

This was a very blue-collar area at the edge of the river that was heavily impacted by severe flooding in 2008. Within a few blocks are expansive grassy areas and large grain elevators, walking trails and a karaoke bar, restaurants, a corner grocery store and theatre, gardens, parks and multi-family developments.
There is significant construction happening across the street, though it is quiet during the night and on weekends.
The stairway between the floors is steep and not safe for very young children or those with mobility issues.
