About the host
Hosted by Alison Yeich
I was raised in Frankfort and our family has had ties to this land for over 100 years. As year-round residents, summertime was the main attraction: cousins near and far would descend for their respective vacations, and days were filled with swimming, outdoor play, bonfires, picnics, and sometimes sleeping out under the stars. Rainy days were no problem at all - we'd play board games for hours in this cottage's sunroom and watch the storms roll in and out.
Why they chose this property
This cottage was built by our grandfather's cousin in the 1960s, and just recently our family bought it from her descendants. Relatives are still close by- some year-round, some summer, and some renting their homes to visitors and guests. We're happy to open up our newly remodeled cottage to share this place with an incredible view of Crystal Lake, with Lake Michigan and the Sand Dunes visible in the distance.
What makes this property unique
It feels like the top of Benzie County at this property, with views spanning wide across Crystal Lake. If you enjoy a peaceful perch as a restorative vacation spot, high above the water, then Hill Hideaway is for you.
