Dear guests and those interested in Yucatan,
we have a very attractive 360 degree virtual walk for you from the apartments, El Cuyo and surroundings for you.
You can click the link on this page, or simply ask by email, we will be happy to send it to you.
If you don't feel like hotel castles or all-inclusive hotels and would rather look for relaxation and recreation away from the tourist centers of Cancun and Playa del Carmen, El Cuyo would be something very special with its pristine, authentic Caribbean feeling.
El Cuyo is a small village with coconut palms by the sea, still spared from mass tourism, located on the Yucatan peninsula.
El Cuyo is the only place covered with palm trees. On all other beaches, the coconut palms were eradicated by a plague and no more afforestation was carried out.
Not so in El Cuyo, there is still an ideal world here!
The completely furnished house with a large beach terrace and many coconut palms is available for you all year round.
You can only book the ground floor with 2 separate bedrooms, plus a living / bedroom, shower room, kitchen for up to 8 people.
All apartments are completely independent of one another, with separate entrances, beach terraces, fully equipped kitchens, and clean bathrooms.
On free days we like to explore Yucatan to explore the legendary Mayan culture, .. away from the city, traffic and mass tourism.
One day we came to El Cuyo by accident ... the arrival was amazing ... we crossed a pink lagoon in the car with hundreds of pink flamingos ... and came to a quiet village full of coconut palms.
You pass a Mayan pyramid on which a lighthouse is built, and now you come ... you can even climb the lighthouse.
The streets in El Cuyo are still made of sand coconut palm trees as far as the eye can see and fine white sandy beach without tourists ... wonderful!
We have been to many places in Yucatan, but none had coconut palms as they were eradicated by a plague.
Not so in El Cuyo, here were all the palm trees in town and on the beach, we were delighted by the Caribbean feeling, and then visited this heavenly quiet spot every free weekend until someone offered us a small house for sale. At that time it consisted of only one ground floor. We immediately fell in love with this 'rough diamond' and renovated it with a lot of passion. We didn't even think of renting it as a holiday home.
Then we built the penthouse on the 1st floor and the Casa Maya Lodge on the 2nd floor.
Casa Maya Lodge, Robinson Life
Nestled between the palm trees on the 2nd floor is a lodge built in the typical Mayan style (22m2 living space) with an original palm roof, shower room, small kitchenette and beach terrace (24m2) for 2 people.
We recommend this eagle nest lodge with a fabulous view of the sea and the beach for adventurers and people who are looking for the simple and are close to nature.

Please contact her via Whatsapp so that the key handover goes smoothly.

'We have been traveling in the Americas with our two four-legged friends since May 2012. We are driving a Toyota HZJ75 with a cabin and plan to be on the road by 2015. Our route led from Halifax towards Newfoundland, west through Canada, gave us summer fun in the lonely Yukon, Indian Summer in British Columbia, 6 months along and across Mexico, Central America with all corners and edges and soon South America.
