About this property
The "Haunted" Lockeford Emporium in Historic Lockeford
HAUNTED - The Lockeford Emporium - Built circa 1883, by the town's founder (Dr. Locke).
While the building embodies the greatness of the gilded era here in California's Great Gold Rush Era…some who have stayed have noticed more interesting and nuance features. Delia Locke’s online diary may shed light on the strange encounters by some.
Placed on the National Registry for Charles Beasley's renown architecture. It is 1 of 35 nationally registered historic buildings within San Joaquin County.
The building consist of three stories of historic memory - within these walls lay all the trappings and truths of a family’s tale, with the history of so many people that passed by on their way to and from the motherlode.
From those who sought fortune and fame to those that carried the burden of Gold Gever, and on through to today’s travelers who still seek something that last longer than the moment. T

About the host
Hosted by Daniel Kramer
We are a local family with a deep love of history, music, art, and having fun. We enjoy showing people what our special part of California has to offer - from great wine to magical scenery and wild rivers to mountain hikes...we have it all right here for your next stay and enjoyment.
Why they chose this property
This building was on the market for a long time, and it has been closed to the public for more than 20 years, but after a long sleep and a lot of local help from a couple of unique and dedicated restoration experts that poured their heart and soul into this building - The Lockeford Emporium is open for business!!!
What makes this property unique
This building was built by the town founders Dr Locke and Mrs. Delia Locke - for their son (Dean-Jewett) and his family, circa 1883. This was the gateway to the Motherload - and all of California's mining wilds. It represents what is left of the time, and has within its walls all the memories of an old town hall, boarding house, meat shop, meeting spot, and much more. There are tales of it having a special sense, so listen closely - and if you are lucky you may meet the makers of this building as they pass the halls - as it is claimed to be "haunted"!!!
