About this property

Hot Tub! Arcade! Walk to Everything! Historic home perched atop Main Street!

Welcome to our beautifully restored 1923 home, located in the absolute heart of downtown Luray, Virginia. Sitting proudly at the top of Main Street, this home offers unmatched walkability—step outside the gate and you’re immediately surrounded by local bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and small-town charm. Park your car when you arrive and truly enjoy Luray on foot, with mountain views providing a stunning backdrop to your stay.

Inside, the home blends historic character with modern comfort. A highlight for families and groups is the dedicated game room, featuring foosball and a four-player retro arcade with over 3,500 games. After a day of exploring, unwind in the spacious 7-person jacuzzi—perfect for relaxing under the stars.

This home’s location makes it an ideal base for exploring the area. Luray Caverns is just minutes away, and Shenandoah National Park’s Skyline Drive is right down the road, offering world-class hiking, overlooks, and scenic drives. Access to the Shenandoah River for tubing, boating, and fishing is also only minutes down the road.

Important Notes About the Home and Location:

This home is in the beating heart of Luray. It is not a quiet, secluded mountain retreat- and that’s exactly what many guests love about it. A train track runs just behind the house, providing close-up views of passing trains, a consistent favorite experience for kids. Across the street is the town fire department, which may be called out at any time, day or night. You’ll also notice light foot traffic outside the front gate, as the home sits in a lively, walkable commercial district.

Most guests consider these elements part of the authentic downtown experience rather than drawbacks. However, if you’re seeking total quiet and serenity, a remote cabin in the woods may be a better fit. If you want energy, convenience, character, and to be fully immersed in the life of Luray, you’ve found the perfect place.

This historic home features a charming original gravity-convection design enhanced with modern baseboard heating (individual room thermostats for precise control) and central air conditioning upstairs controlled from the master bedroom thermostat. For the best comfort—especially when using the AC—please run the ceiling fans throughout the house to help circulate air evenly, just as the home's classic design intends.
