From no communication for Check-in to leaks in the main bathroom pipes, this property needs a new cleaning service, etc. It all needed to be cleaned when we arrived and obviously hadn’t been cleaned since the last tenants and the WiFi wasn’t working.

The property was well maintained, and the description was spot on. Gated community and close to the downtown area. Also had a balcony. The host was very congenial once we established communications, but that was the hard part. We never received any check-in information for the property on the day of arrival. Phone calls and VRBO messages to the host did not work. We spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone with VRBO Support trying to make a connection with the host, which was finally established after about two hours of frantic moments. Afterwards, the host was easy to reach via mobile text. Again, this is a very nice property, so there are no complaints about condition, etc.

This was a great apartment that was quite clean and had everything we needed. Each bedroom on the main floor has a nice bathroom attached. The water pressure in each of the showers was really good. There is a lot of closet and shelf space. The third bedroom is a loft with a bed, nightstands, and chairs. The beds in all three spaces are comfortable. The AC works very well which was important for us at the beginning of July! The location was perfect—near all the highways for easy access to a variety of cultural and sports venues, close to restaurants, and a quick drive to a grocery store. Walking to downtown is possible but it’s a bit of a hike so we drove everywhere. The building is gated, parking was available, and the surrounding neighborhood is attractive so we felt safe. The downside of being near highways (and trains) is that it is noisy. We live in a city so it was background noise to us but if you need quiet it’s probably not the best place for you. Communication with the host was good but could be better. Once we were in the apartment and had questions the host was very responsive, but our need to ask questions would have been reduced if we had more information prior to the visit or in a handbook. We have rented a lot of properties through VRBO and I can’t remember another place that didn’t have some kind of booklet with information about the apartment and the area—at least we didn’t find one. All in all we had a good experience and we would rent the apartment again.

We did not receive a welcome email telling us how to access the property. We had to contact customer support to get ahold of someone for the information. The parking spots were far from the unit and in no particular order. Without a map of their location we had to circle the entire complex and found someone else already parked in our spots. The apartment looked nice and as pictured upon entry; however, small roaches came out at night. The kitchen cabinet hinges were off on multiple kitchen doors, several lightbulbs were out and a hole in the wall behind the master bedroom door from a door knob. Also, the listing stated a 10 minute walk to the convention center. The walk is 25 minutes so we had to drive and pay for parking for our event.
