For our active guests, the Eixener natural swimming lake, just 5 km away, is perfect for swimming. Passing by vast fields and meadows, you’ll reach the lake via the convenient bike path. Across fields and meadows, past the Bodden coast with its picturesque harbours, all the way to the Baltic Sea, you can easily use the well-developed bike network.
Excursions to the mustard mill at Schlemmin Castle Park, canoe trips on the nearby Recknitz River, a stroll through the park, or a hike through the beautiful surrounding forests will help you instantly forget the stresses of everyday life. For the kids, a day of adventure at the nearby Marlow Bird Park is well worth it.

The Hanseatic cities of Rostock and Stralsund are within day-trip distance, and the “Amber City” of Ribnitz-Damgarten also has plenty of cultural attractions to offer.

In the evening, you can once again enjoy the tranquility of the lake behind our castle.
