About this property

Beautiful White Mountain Lodge on Mirror Lake, Hot Tub, Dog Friendly, 6 Bedrooms

Lake and mountains are the perfect setting for your next family vacation. We have a private beach and dock on Mirror Lake, alongside the White Mountain National Forest. Our comfortable, dog-friendly 6-bedroom lodge sleeps 12 with a few extra built-in bunks for younger children. Recently renovated, architect-designed kitchen with wood flooring throughout. Renovations have been done with an eye to saving the rustic charm of the 19th century original building. Enjoy our outdoor cedar hot tub, large deck, fire pit and indoor stone fireplace.

Finding a place in the White Mountains that is both on a swimming lake and minutes from mountain hiking is rare. This is the place. Mirror Lake is a pristine and beautiful swimming lake, off limits to motor boats but ideal for paddling and fishing and swimming. Wake up and take a morning dip or use one of our boats (kayaks, canoes, or pedal boat) from our dock. The lake is also stocked with fish and visited by bald eagles, blue heron, and loons.

THE PROPERTY:
We have a big, flat yard that is perfect for sports and lawn games. We keep a volleyball net up in the summer and stock our shed with outdoor toys.

We are minutes to 4 major ski resorts and several smaller ski areas.
- 15 minutes from Loon Mountain
- 20 minutes from Cannon Mountain
- 25 minutes from Waterville Valley
- 40 minutes from Bretton Woods

House:

The house is a classic mountain lodge. It has one large common area with the living room, dining room and kitchen. There is a fire pit and large deck overlooking the lake. We also have an outdoor hot tub.

There is an owner's unit on the ground floor. We live here with our two young children. The units are entirely separate with separate entrances, driveways, and yards.

Please note that that there are stairs up to the lodge that may not be accessible to people or pets who have difficulties with stairs.

Hubbard Brook, the world renowned Hubbard Brook Research Lab, hiking trails, and all a short walk away. The Pemi River and The Jack golf course are nearby too.

GUEST SPACE:
Two floors with 6 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, kitchen, and large deck with tables, chairs, grill, and umbrella. The swimming beach, boats, driveway, and yard is yours too.

New Hampshire/ Off the grid getaway

Our kids are now adults and still want to vacation together and this was the perfect place to do that. Private and quiet yet close to so many adventures. Check-in was a breeze and the owners were available and responsive but did not intrusive on our time at all. I highly recommend this vacation property.

This is a beautiful property, and beautiful clean lake but I will say the family who lives downstairs was very present during our stay. They were friendly, but always around. If you’re looking for privacy I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place.

This property is a gem! There were 11 of us, ages 75 to 8 months and it was perfect for everyone! We loved having the beach and calm watered cove for the littles; the kayaks and pedal boat was loved by the teens and adults and everyone appreciated being able to eat all together - both inside and out! It's rare to find a place that has a big enough table! Beds were comfortable, the hot tub was a nice relaxing evening activity and Laura was very easy to communicate with, both before and during our stay. I would definitely recommend this home!

Our family of 11, six adult adults and five teenagers, stayed at this property in July 2025 for a week. The view from the deck is beautiful as the house is situated on a cove. The lake is perfect for boating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. Our family really enjoyed it.The pictures accurately show the amenities offered. The lodge has a rustic feel to it. The six bedrooms are well sized to for multiple adults and children to share. However, there isn’t a lot of dresser/closet space so we lived out of our bags. The owners live on property full-time. During our stay, we interacted with them multiple times, they were pleasant and attentive, but always present. They also had people doing yard work and maintenance that we weren’t expecting on 4 of the 7 days we stayed. This definitely made the rental feel less private and comfortable as we didn’t know if we’d encounter the owners or others at any time.

We really enjoyed our home away from home for our annual friend's weekend away. The property has a lot to offer in addition to the great location for hiking in the White Mountains. The lake, hot tub, deck, fire pit, and more just added to the eexperience!

Perfect white mountain escape

Awesome location with everything we needed for a weekend with the family. Even with the rain we had plenty for the kids to do with the large open floor plan and board games. We will definitely be back again!

January get-away with old friends

We really enjoy being at Mirror Lake Lodge , we appreciate the rustic feeling of this old New Hampshire building with it's views of the lake and mountains. We do all our own cooking, so, the completely furnished modern kitchen is a delight for our group to use for meal preparation and an excellent dish washer for easy cleanup.

Very well appointed

Besides being a superb location and a spacious lodge, all needs were thought of: sheets, towels, dish soap, board games, books, stocked grill, kayaks, canoes, life vests, paddles, sandy, private swimming area. Kevin and Laura were very responsive hosts, and check out couldn’t have been easier. For eight adults and three little ones, the six bedrooms has plenty of room. Each had fans for hot weather indoors, and Mirror Lake was just right for cooling off outdoors. It was perfect for kayaking or canoeing around. At just an hour from Concord, it’s a delightful get-away!

A Wonderful Fall Weekend Getaway

From the booking process through the end of our stay, Laura and Kevin were wonderful and attentive hosts. We have stayed at this lodge in the past and the upgrades have been a great addition. Communication prior to arrival was thorough and had all the necessary information we needed. We took advantage of the fireplace and even got out on the serene lake for a paddle boat. We will absolutely visit again! Thank you for a much needed weekend getaway!

Great family spot

This was our 2nd stay here as a family, we loved it the first time and glad we could do it again. Loved the lake, the new hot tub, and all the water sports equipment. Always nice waking up to this view each day. The interior room options are great and works for a variety of sleeping situations. Laura was great w/ communication ahead of time - very easy experience. Just want we wanted...

This house was just what my friends and I were looking for. We had a party of 9, including 3 couples and one infant. House was great for that. Having the second half bath was a definite plus. Only some of our group went skiing at Loon for the day. A bunch of us did some snowshoing around the lake - walking on trails through the woods and out on the frozen lake to chat with ice fishermen. Hot tub was excellent and everyone had fun. I appreciated they had firewood at the house we could simply pay for as it was hard to find on our way up. Definitely recommend grabbing groceries well before you get there. Overall great stay, quick trip from Boston and we're already talking about renting again in the summer!

Great place

This old 200 yr old barn was great place for us. plenty of room for our family reunion (only 8 of us were able to go). Lots of beds. We brought our own kayaks however there were plenty to use. Gorgeous lake....one of our best weekends this year. Great outdoor fire pit, awesome deck. Down side is small kitchen... Old stove....however, we made do. The one bedroom next to the bathroom did have a smell to it, however, had a stained carpet, which someone thought an animal peed on?!? We didn't bring the dogs we planned on but it is a great place if you have one. Cobwebs around. But heck it's a barn! Would totally rent this place again. Awesome wildlife on that lake...just beautiful. Thank you Laura!

Great family vacation spot

We stayed for a week in early August with 11 people ranging from 3 mos to 70 years old. Overall we had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the place. The yard is huge and already had a badminton net set up when we arrived and lots of other yard games in the shed. The description states 1 kayak, but we were pleased to find 2 of them when we arrived and we really loved the paddle boat. The lake is quite calm since motor boats are not allowed and it made for very relaxing rides on the water. The house itself has lots of room with 6 bedrooms with a queen or full bed in each. The two upstairs bedrooms are loft style and larger with each having a separate twin bed so you could put 3 people each in those rooms. There was also a pack-and-play that we found and used. The house is very comfortable and very old/ rustic looking, adding to the charm. There were a good supply of window fans and oscillating my fans to stay cool plus two floor a/c units (though we didn't use those). Only downside to the old house was the stairs leading up to the loft bedrooms were very creaky and made it impossible to silently go up/down in the middle of the night when dealing with our infant. The hot tub was an excellent bonus! Another thing that the kids loved was access to the public beach raft just outside of the cove. It was a very short paddle around the corner to get there. My wife says If it included washer and dryer, we would have rated at 5 stars. We instead ended up using the same day drop off laundry service at the Thornton laundromat. $1 per pound of clothes for wash/dry/fold. Very little to complain about here.

Not a quiet getaway

While the view is very nice, the property did not provide the quiet, secluded family time we had been expecting. During our week long stay, we had only one day of peaceful family time (and unfortunately by then our daughter had thought it best to take our young grandchildren elsewhere). We checked in on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday the caretaker was walking through the property (including a visit to our “private” deck). On Monday the property owner began construction serenading us with the sound of saws and hammering. The construction continued through Wednesday when an outside construction crew showed up. During these days we also had multiple visits from the property owners off-leash dog who was enjoying eating our grandchildren’s food. Their son was allowed to sit and stare at us playing with our grandchildren, walk through our gathering and even spray my husband with a squirt gun. On Friday, after being promised by the property owner that there would be no more construction, my daughter was blessed at 8:30 by the sound of the caretaker digging outside her window. In the end the property owner felt a reimbursement of $200 was sufficient, and yes this is total, not per day of construction. Notes: The unit is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the building so not easily accessible if you have difficulty with stairs. Wi-Fi can be inconsistent so having access to a personal hotspot is recommended if you are in need of Wi-Fi. Contact the caretaker upon arrival, he will come by to check you in.
