Odsherred has been one of the Danes' favorite vacation destinations for more than 100 years. This is partly due to the beaches, the art and the varied landscape. Odsherred is surrounded by the Isefjord, Kattegat and Sejerø Bay, and the special light is found in few other places in Denmark. Visit, for example, Sommerland Sjælland or the 13th century Dragsholm Castle, where a white ghost is said to live. The castle is unique and beautifully located on the bay of Nekselø. Also worth visiting is the town of Nykøbing Sjælland with numerous shopping opportunities, several supermarkets and a cozy pedestrian zone with specialty stores and cafes. Or go to Rørvig and enjoy the atmosphere at the harbor, where you can buy and enjoy freshly caught and smoked fish every day, while the children catch crabs from the pier. The ice age landscape in Odsherred is unique - and crucial to the way Odsherred looks today. Take a walk along the Gravhøj Route and experience the Ice Age landscape, Stone Age dolmens and Bronze Age burial mounds. There is also the Hempel Glass Museum, the Odsherred Museum and Næsholm Castle, located on a small island in Lake Nygård between Højby and Nykøbing Sj, to discover.
