Sand Castle Villa 1 is a duplex unit of a larger home, Sand Castle Villa, which can be rented as an entire home (see page for details). With its gorgeous views of the ocean from a full wall of windows in the living space, marble accents, and beach-themed decor, this home is all about comfort. Enjoy the plush seating in the living area, and the views from the dining table. Watch cable on the mounted TV.

The kitchen is ready for you to roll up your sleeves and do your best culinary work: with all the important appliances and plenty of counter space, you can make any meal you so desire - from lobster dinner to cereal!

This unit has three bedrooms and three bathrooms: two kings and four twins, plus a bathroom per room, so no need to share the shower or fight for mirror time! This unit of Sand Castle Villa comfortably sleeps eight guests. The rental also includes WiFi, a garage, a private hot tub, and a washer/dryer.

Soak up the Oregon Coast with beach combing, long walks, or hiking in the state parks. Enjoy the views from cafes and eateries in Rockaway Beach proper. Or sit on your own patio, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the closeness of the ocean from your own beach cottage.

Beachfront with jacuzzi tub worth $$ in off-season

Perfect location for that small beach town feel. Beach access is not for young, old or infirm. Giant rock stairs straight out of the Flintstones! LoL I found it very cool walking the beach and noting the other properties' giant rock stair accesses; but impassable to those with limited mobility. Hardly any beach goers in early March, which made it very private and secluded feeling. Wish they would install a divider on back deck between units for hottub privacy. Maybe latticed? We would definitely rent this property again!

A Magical Weekend

What a welcoming, well decorated, bright and perfectly situated home for our family beach getaway. The view from the main living and dining area as well as the lower floor bedrooms is glorious! The layout suited the 7 of us and we all slept comfortably. Appreciated a lot of thoughtful touches such as multiple choice of pillows, extra blankets and throws, kites to fly and wood to burn for a bonfire (which we never got to given the glorious weather). Definitely an annual return visit for us all!

Great place to stay

Sand in the hot tub, sand inbetween cracks in living room sofa, a little bit of sand in the bed. The bunk bedroom bathroom door felt stuck, and no light in the ceiling. Those are minor complaints. I would expect sand since so close to the beach. We all loved the place. Would definitely stay again next time

Beautiful view!

Some of the sheets on the beds and bathroom towels had hair on them, so we washed them. The window in the dining room started leaking quite badly, so we called to report the situation. Also the refrigerator started to leak under the bottom grill, but seemed to stop during the night. We took out as much of the garbage as we could (the outside garbage can was already full). Otherwise everything was wonderful!!

I booked this property because it said it had a hot tub. After booking and being sent a no cancellation notice we were sent an email saying the hot tub was not working. VRBO seems to have no info to speak with anyone. You have to deal directly with the property owner even though you book through VRBO and they claim to have a stress free process. Good luck finding any numbers or contacts for anyone at VRBO. I was able to contact Vicassa. They said we could cancel if we wanted after receiving the email. It was a take it or leave it deal. When we arrived at the house there was a giant pool of water in the living room from the freezer defrosting. The fridge was not working when we arrived. All of our groceries for the week were compromised. The reason they said the hottub was out of order was a storm took away the cover. When we arrived the hot tub had a cover on it and was all locked up in a way you cannot get the lock off. Even though they give you a key. After all the frustrations with the hot tubs and fixing the fridge myself the house itself is in a pretty spectacular spot right on the beach. The house is super outdated but still pretty amazing because of the location. The view is amazing from the living room and the 2 bedroom's downstairs. We have 2 little girls and they had a blast. We came from out of the US to rent and wanted to keep our cell service from roaming but all communication is done last minute from these guys for door codes etc. so we had to use roaming on cell phones to receive text messages. You really get the feeling they want you in and out at a premium. Check in at 4pm and out at 10am??? First and last days are a wash.

Beautiful View from the main floor and both Bedrooms downstairs!

Right on the beach, good access, beautiful view from the main living area and both bedrooms downstairs. This home is a townhome so stairs up to master and main living area. Wish there was a divider on the deck to divide outside space for more privacy from the townhome next door. Everything in home is well stocked, clean, very comfortable beds. Loved out three days here in January!

Awesome Location, just ok house

Can’t beat location and is quiet, however had issues; not as clean as it could be, manual for hot tub would be nice, didn’t try washer/dryer or TV, but nice for day trips up and down the coast.

We literally came home with fleas.

Things in this Vacasa were dirty, broken or missing. Most noteworthy among these things were the missing window coverings in the bedrooms. There are a lot of things that I can forgive, but I actually came home from this trip with fleas. We didn't have fleas in our home. Our pets don't have fleas. I got fleas from a three night stay in a vacasa and I am not at all happy about it.

Great Views, Not Great House

Hot tub was open and freezing when we arrived, didnt warm up until we were about to leave at the end of the weekend. It was the whole reason we chose this place and we couldn't enjoy it until the last hours of our last morning. Big bummer. Also, house isnt very well maintained. There was a lot of deterioration to doors facing the ocean and during a big storm the first night a lot of water was getting into the bedrooms. We tried reaching out to the hosts about these things, never got a response. Great location, pretty good ameneties for the price (if we could have used the best one!!) but the property owners clearly dont care for the house.

Everything you need

This home has everything you need. Space for a large family, kitchen utensils and dishes, extra towels and blankets, board games, hot tub, three bathrooms, ect. I deducted a star for two reasons. After fighting with the tv for an hour we discovered the cable was unplugged from the television. Second I don't like paying cleaning fees for a dirty rental. There was crumbs and sticky spots on the table and counters and hand prints all over the kitchen windows. With those two exceptions, the rental was wonderful, if a bit overpriced considering the time of year.

Expect Little and you will be happy

This is a beautiful location for a beach house. it's a smart floor plan, and works well for a group - it has 3 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms which is wonderful. It's right on the beach so the location is ideal. BUT...BUT...BUT - THIS PLACE IS A HOT MESS - It was built in 1998 and has NOT been updated since. Which is ok but I don't think it's been maintained since either. First the pictures make it look GREAT - but it was filthy dirty - absolutely unacceptable during Covid - I sprayed the whole place down when I got there because it was so dirty. One bathroom was never cleaned and had hair all over the place, toilet paper on the floor, no towels and soap left from the previous guests. The place is a liability - broken chairs, missing screen doors, broken blinds, the rug was rolled up and in the garage - who knows why. The dishwasher barely works and takes 1 1/2 hours to run, The Washer and dryer all rusty and old - and they do not provide ANY EXTRAS. We were given 1/2 of a roll of crappy paper towels, 3 garbage bags for a long weekend (would have been OK if we didn't have to clean up after the previous guests). 3 dishwasher tablets and one was defective, NO laundry soap, and diluted hand soap at the kitchen sink. This place is missing safety basics - the smoke detector on the lower level is missing - just wires hanging. No fire extinguisher, no flashlights, no first aid kit - basically everything the Vacasa web site says they do they did not. The hot tub was dirty - water unbalanced and the best part it would not get above 89 degrees - we are not rookie Hot tub people - we have our own. There was something wrong with the tub in this place. And the cover was wasted - torn and needed to be replaced. I have so much more - I would stay clear of this place until they can spend some money and time updating it properly.

Stay Away from this plvet

Please, stay away from this place. It was filthy dirty everywhere. So here is the full picture of my stay which ruined our time. As you walk to open the main door, it’s rusty but we said it’s fine, it’s by the coen it happens. We opened the door and gosh the smell, it was awful. cat pee smell. We walk in and go upstairs, the kitchen faucet and sink area is pink, the dishes in cabinets are dirty, the windows needs sone serious cleaning as it has mold on all of them. The chairs have wobbly legs in living and dinning area. In the bathroom, the faucet and sink is pink, stain on some towels and washer has rusted and peeling off. No laundry detergent for cleaning at all In the bedroom, the pillow cover is torn and old, the bottom mattress is not covered and exposed and it’s dirty. The closet has all the random things in it like a huge pot and some woods. The light was flickering everytime you turned it on. The chest in bedroom is brown so you can’t even use it. The downstairs bedroom had dust on pillow and our friend got bad rashes from it. Sooo yeah, be careful before booking this place. The only thing nice about it was the view you get from the place

Rockaway trip 2

Location of the house is perfect 20 ft walk to nice rock steps gets you on the beach. The house has great views from inside and out. Beds are all super comfy not to firm not to soft. Only drawbacks to the house is it needs minor upkeep. Blinds down stairs are half broken (hard to get privacy). The hot tub Wasn't very clean and needs a new cover. The steps around the hot tub were broken. Minor things. We enjoyed our time at sandcastle and would book it again

Our fav place to stay on the Oregon coast

This is our 4th time staying at this house and it is our favorite! Always clean, fully stocked with all the dishes and amenities you could need. Love the hot tub and being able to walk right out on the beach!
