This apartment was nothing like it was advertised. Nowhere in the listing did it mention that it was located in a high-poverty area, which made me feel unsafe. The condition of the apartment was also very disappointing. It was extremely dark and not clean. There were no proper utensils—only one dirty fork. The shower curtain was filthy, the couch had noticeable stains, and there were holes in the walls. The beds looked hastily put together with lumpy, uncomfortable covers.The furniture was in poor condition as well. The living room table was broken, and the small dining table came with chairs that looked like they were about to fall apart. Due to these issues, we stayed in the apartment for less than 30 minutes before leaving. We ended up going into Washington to rent a hotel instead. Unfortunately, the host was rude when I was explaining my concerns and said I was discriminating against his people, and has not returned any of my money.
