While there is a small access point for vehicles to reach the lake, guests should not drive beyond the fence marked with the stop sign. The shoreline area at the cove is not intended for regular vehicle use. Driving on it can damage the grading and may result in getting stuck. Guests are responsible for any damage to the landscape and all associated recovery costs if vehicles are driven beyond the designated access point or into the shoreline area.
Any kayaks, paddle boards, etc. should be walked down and launched/recovered from the shoreline cove.
The firepit requires guest-provided firewood. Guests must bring their own watercraft equipment and safety equipment; all water activities are undertaken at their own risk.
For security, there is a smart-lock camera at the front door, an exterior AI-enabled PTZ camera monitoring the front-entry area, and a camera at the roof apex monitoring the lakeside dock. The roof camera cannot view the deck. There are no cameras inside or in private spaces.
There is a small white PVC clean‑out pipe located to the right side of the property (as facing the front of the house). It is clearly marked with an orange cone, and the owners kindly ask that guests keep vehicles clear of this area.
On rare occasions, neighboring dogs have wandered through the property. The owners do not interact with them and recommend that guests do the same.
A fire extinguisher is located underneath the kitchen sink.

About the host
Hosted by Shawn
Our family values service, community, and time well spent together. We stay busy supporting our kids through youth sports and enjoying an active outdoor lifestyle, whether that’s spending time on the water, exploring new places, or simply soaking in the moment with family.
We love to travel and understand what makes a stay truly memorable: comfort, cleanliness, and thoughtful details that help you relax and feel at home. Hosting allows us to share that same experience with others while connecting with guests from all walks of life.
Why they chose this property
Set along the beautiful shores of Lake Wedowee, our neighborhood offers a peaceful blend of calm water, wooded surroundings, and relaxed lake living. Mornings are quiet with soft light reflecting off the water, and evenings bring stunning sunsets that make it easy to slow down and unwind.
What we enjoy most is the sense of space and serenity, yet still being close to great fishing, boating, and time on the water. It’s the kind of place where you can disconnect from the rush, enjoy the outdoors, and create lasting memories with family and friends.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property truly stand out is the unique feel of being on Lake Wedowee, which we believe offers a quieter, more relaxed experience than larger, more developed lakes like Lake Martin, Lake Guntersville, or Smith Lake.
Here, you’ll find a slower pace, less boat traffic, and a more intimate connection with nature. The calm cove setting creates a peaceful backdrop for morning coffee, family time, and unwinding at the end of the day, while still giving you year-round water and easy access to the main channel when you want to explore.
The location also offers great access to nearby attractions, including Cheaha State Park, the scenic trails and natural beauty of Talladega National Forest, and the excitement of Talladega Superspeedway. Whether you’re looking for outdoor adventure or a quiet lakeside escape, you’ll find the best of both worlds right here.
