The fully equipped kitchen, featuring a 4-burner ceramic cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, oven, and plenty of kitchen utensils, is sure to delight home cooks. Not only the underfloor heating but also the wood-burning stove creates a cosy, comfortable atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi is, of course, included.

In addition to a spacious bathroom on the upper floor of the holiday home, a guest bathroom is also available on the ground floor. The sauna with its adjacent shower rounds out this perfectly equipped home. A modern grill is available on the fenced-in property, which features a sun terrace. Nothing stands in the way of cosy evenings around the grill. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms with a stunning view through the large semicircular windows. One of the rooms has a double bed, while the other is furnished with two single beds. All windows and patio doors are equipped with insect screens.

The Stranddistel is a particularly dog-friendly home. Dog beds and food bowls are provided in the house. The fenced-in property allows dogs to spend time outdoors, and in the summer, the adjacent forest offers plenty of shaded areas. Additionally, for a small fee, you can use the charging station for your electric car at the house.

In addition to numerous shopping options and restaurants, the seaside resort of Glowe also serves as an ideal starting point for bike tours through the lush natural scenery of the island of Rügen. At the dog beach, your four-legged companions can be themselves and run around to their heart’s content. Glowe is the starting point for trips to numerous highlights on Rügen, such as the former princely town of Putbus, the harbour of Sassnitz, the sister island of Hiddensee, and many others.

A few kilometres south of Glowe lies the Jasmund Peninsula. There’s plenty to discover on Jasmund—from the ancient beech forests, which are designated as a World Natural Heritage Site, to the famous chalk cliffs that have long been the symbol of the island of Rügen. The National Park Centre offers a cultural highlight, where you can learn how the chalk cliffs—including the famous Königsstuhl—and the entire peninsula were formed.

A visit to the Störtebeker Festival is also particularly worthwhile. Every year, the spectacle attracts over 300.000 visitors and is considered one of the most popular open-air theatre performances in all of Germany. At the Ralswiek Open-Air Theatre, you’ll gain insight into the life of the legendary buccaneer. With naval battles, sword fights, horses, and birds of prey—as well as the fireworks display that follows—the show is an unforgettable experience every single time.
