Visiting Portland from out of town to be with adult children living here? Plenty of room for family gatherings. Moving in from out of town and need a place to stay while you do a house search? Need to vacate your current Portland residence for major renovation? Staying in town while a loved one is getting extended medical treatment? In town for an extended business trip? You will be in the heart of the Hawthorne and Division Neighborhoods, featuring its many great restaurants, shops, pubs, theaters, music venues, parks and more. Walking to great local eateries and services is easy and relaxing (walk score of 94!) and Portland’s extensive bike-way network (bike score of 100!) offers outstanding cycling access to all of inner urban Portland and its beautiful river front venues. This tastefully furnished and ideally located townhouse is perfect for you. Close and safe location to OHSU

Thankful to have had a home where we could have our small dogs while going thru stem cell transplant. Adequate room and linens if you have visitors. Bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs and downstairs only. Located in Ladd's Addition which has beautiful old craftsman style homes and remarkable landscaping, including parks throughout the subdivision. Close to anything you may need or want.

We are new Grandparents!

We were very close, walkable, to our daughter and son in law who just had a baby. We were Abe to see them every day! We had our own space here so were able to give “the kids” their own space too. Gregory was a great virtual host. Available for any questions that came up. The house was spacious and comfortable and had all th Ed amenities. Kitchen was fully functional. Laundry was nice to have. I was able to work remotely. Nice neighborhood and parking in back was so nice to have.

Exceptional Portland Experience

We rented this home for three months as part of our transition and move from the East Coast to Portland to be closer to our children. Could not have asked for a better landing spot than this home. It was perfectly appointed and had absolutely everything we needed to make ourselves at home while the rest of our stuff was in storage. Every communication with the owner was positive and promptly responded to, and I feel like we’ve made a friend in the process. There was tons of room in this home, which gave us private office space as well as a private room and bath place for when our daughter and son-in-law came to visit from Corvallis. The neighborhood is great for access to unlimited eating options and amazing walks in Ladds Edition. We have moved to another part of town but will always look back fondly at our three months in this home. Thank you!

Lovely time in Ladd’s!

We had a great six week stay at this property! Gregory is a wonderful host, very communicative, flexible and helpful. The space was clean, spacious yet cozy and had everything we needed. We loved walking around the gardens in Ladd’s as well as down to all of the great food trucks and shopping in the area. I even walked across the bridge a couple of time for meetings. Very safe and fun area. We are moving her permanently and will recommend this rental to friends and family when they visit!

Great location, lovely home.

This 3-bedroom home in the small Ladd's Addition neighborhood in Portland gave us access to the river (we liked to run there) and dozens of restaurants and music venues. There is also a Food Truck court a couple of blocks away that offers anything from steamed clams to food from Ghana. We walked over there for a meal a few times and were always delighted with what we got. there is also a great breakfast place a block away called Junior's Cafe. The house itself is well appointed and the bedrooms are large and comfortable. One should be aware however, that there is no television. there is a monitor and a dvd player (with lots of dvds) but if you want to stream something, you have to do it through your own computer and hook it up to the monitor. We stayed for a month and during that time, we communicated with Greg a couple of times and he was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable house in an exciting part of town

This house in Ladd’s addition was a great base to explore the city. In the Southeast neighborhood, it was surrounded by restaurants, food trucks, and breweries all in walking distance. Downtown Portland was a quick bike ride away. The house itself is large, and comfortable. The owner’s have many of their own items (tools, cleaning supplies, etc…) that made my 6 week stay easy. The owner was always quick to respond, and incredibly kind. This spot is a gem.

Wonderfully Equipped in a Delightful Neighborhood

The Perfect Place to Stay!

This townhouse is perfect in every way for a long-term stay. The place looks exactly as it is shown in the photos, inside and out. The place is large and well-furnished. The kitchen is very well-stocked with lots of dishes, flatware, pots/pans, even Pyrex with lids for leftovers. A full-size fridge, full-sized washer and dryer, and gas stove also make it feel like home. There are more than enough nice towels, bedding, blankets, pillows. Again, this is a very easy place to live in for a while. The living spaces are really large. The backyard is PERFECT!! There is a large outdoor table and lots of nice outdoor chairs to enjoy the nice weather. Many very large closets, again filled with extra bedding, fans, blankets. But the reason I am dreaming of coming back here: the location. It’s on the edge of Ladd’s Addition, one of the most beautiful and unique neighborhoods in SE Portland. We brought our dogs, and it was a real treat to walk them in such a beautiful neighborhood each day. Besides the neighborhood itself, this place is in the PERFECT location. It took no time at all to walk to dozens of coffee shops, bars, restaurants, grocery stores, bookstores, vintage stores, pet stores. Anything you need is within 30 minutes, often much closer. I believe there is a Metro stop close by, but we never needed it since everywhere is so walkable. Portland is such a beautiful and walkable city, it was so much fun to just head out in any direction and find some real treasures. Greg couldn’t have been more personable and helpful. We absolutely loved our stay, and hope to stay here again soon.

Perfect location, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and more importantly, my son’s home. Greg was very responsive and helpful. The home has a few quirks, but Greg explained them and offered solutions. The WiFi could be upgraded and cable tv would have been appreciated, but any issues were minor and I managed without these conveniences. Overall, a great visit and a very comfortable stay. I just wish this townhome was available more often.

This was a perfect house for our vacation needs. We traveled to Portland for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament held at the Moda Center which was an easy ten minute drive. Five of us stayed comfortably and we were able to host a nice barbeque in the fenced backyard area which is appointed with lights that made it super festive for us. The house is updated and has all the modern conveniences you will need. The owners are super gracious and very easy to do business with. We were elated when we discovered that it was okay for us to bring our 15lb pooch Maggie with us. A fantastic place to stay with fantastic owners.

Very comfortable stay

The property is in excellent condition and everyone staying there remarked at how perfect it was for a family get together. The kitchen is both well set up and stocked with pots and pans, dishes, and cups. The patio was a great space for a BBQ. There are also some excellent restaurants nearby. Overall, a super easy experience in a great neighborhood.

Very nice and very clean!

My husband and I were traveling with another couple and our daughter, her husband and a toddler. The three bedrooms were perfect for us. Our daughter's family stayed downstairs where they had a bathroom and a quiet place for their baby. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for all of us. The location was also very convenient for walking to or getting to several shops and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

You would be hard pressed to rent a single good hotel room for the price of this spacious and well-appointed 3 BR 2 BATH home. YOU WON'T REGRET IT IF YOU STAY HERE!! My wife and I stayed five nights here, three of those nights with with two other couples we invited to join us. The place is very clean and very well maintained and very comfortable., Three actual bedrooms (not just a sleeper couch in the living room like some places might have) and two bathrooms made it perfect for the six of us. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with top-grade appliances and cookware. The dining room seats 6 with no problem. Location is perfect and the out-of-town owners are wonderful and very responsive to any questions you might have. If you fly in to PDX , you won't need a rental car since this place is right on the #70 bus line, and the train runs straight to that line right outside the door of the airport every twenty minutes. We used buses and trains everywhere and never needed a car. fully fenced back yard with propane BBQ and furniture on the deck. Off street parking if you have a car.

Perfect for a family!

We were in Portland with our two children and two other couples for a wedding. The house was exactly as described/ pictured, Greg was very responsive and we really couldn't have asked for more. The basement bedroom was perfect for us and the children, giving us our own bathroom and space for the kids to be messy, while the two adult couples shared the upstairs. The house is in a beautiful residential neighborhood, and there are restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Well-appointed kitchen for making breakfasts for the group (I say breakfast because it's Portland, so you'll probably be going out for dinner, as we did). Very comfortable and easy.

Big Fun in PDX - as always

Getting to the house we found one of our housemates having just arrived before us. We settled in and waited for the others to show up from the wedding and started to plan our night and the whole NYE run. The house was just as it was described and worked out perfectly. Great location, and if we didn't have fairly firm plans and in the summer this place would have be awesome for backyard play. I will keep this rental in mind for sure.

In October 2013 they purchased this lovely townhouse in Ladd's addition to use for family visits and to share their love of Portland with vacationers through VRBO.

Why they chose this property

Ladd's Addition is an inner southeast historic district of Portland. It is Portland's oldest planned residential development, and one of the oldest in the western United States. The district is known in Portland for its unique diagonal street pattern anchored by four beautiful rose gardens and a fifth big garden at the center with a lovely cafe. Stately 1920's Craftsman homes face the streets (few garages) and extensive alley ways behind the homes provide for parking and public services. Roughly eight blocks (east-west) by ten blocks (north-south) in size (by reference to the surrounding grid), Ladd's is bordered by SE Hawthorne, Division, 12th, and 20th streets. It is part of the Hosford-Abernethy neighborhood association.

What makes this property unique

The three level 1800 sq ft Craftsman townhouse was built in 1926 and we have furnished it with furniture and accessories consistent with that style. Its open floor plan makes for a comfortable interior living space and the enclosed backyard perfect for outdoor entertaining.
