If you dream of an oasis of tranquility with a southern ambiance and long evenings in a picturesque nature park while enjoying a fine glass of wine, then leave your everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the tranquil life of our “Domaine du Figuier.” We discovered this gem on a hill overlooking the banks of the Cèze. A largely unspoiled park (8,000 m²) with mature trees, generously furnished with tables, chairs, and lounge chairs, is at your disposal. A small wooden door leads into the courtyard, from where a stone staircase (not suitable for people with mobility impairments) takes you up to the covered terrace, which is available to guests of both “La Cigale” and “La Provencale.” The seating areas are sufficiently spaced apart.
A breathtaking view rewards the small effort. The entrances to the vacation apartments “La Provençale” and “Les Tournesols” are also located here.
You’ll be staying on the property of a sculptor and are welcome to visit the small private gallery. A barbecue is available to our guests both in the courtyard and in the park. The day after your arrival, we invite new guests to a welcome drink. At that time, we’ll offer you detailed tips on how to make the most of your vacation. You’ll also find a folder with extensive information in the apartments. Since we live on-site, we’re always here for you. Should any health issues arise—which we hope won’t happen—we’ll accompany you to the doctor if necessary! Language barriers are no obstacle either; we speak English, German, and French
The Surroundings:
The house’s quiet yet central location offers plenty of options to suit every taste. Attractive destinations for day trips include: the historic towns of Uzès with its bishop’s seat (40 km), Nîmes with the Pont du Gard (60 km), and Avignon with its Papal Palace, which also captivates young and old alike with its festival in July. Anduze, with its pottery workshops, the Bambuserie, and the numerous stalactite caves, is a real experience. The sea is also just 90 km away. In the early and late seasons, hiking enthusiasts will find true delight. You can safely leave your car behind for a while. Beautiful hiking trails lead from the house into the charming surroundings of the Cévennes. We have numerous hiking itineraries ready for you, and we think there’s something for everyone. In the fall, roasting chestnuts from our own forest is the perfect way to cap off an eventful day.
During the summer months, you can relax wonderfully along the Cèze River and treat yourself to delicious yet affordable cuisine at the romantic “guinguettes” (seasonal restaurants) located right on the river.
