About this property

Modern Cabin w/ Private Dock on Eagle River Chain of Lakes

Modern cabin on the Eagle River Chain of Lakes with a private dock on the Deerskin River where it meets Scattering Rice Lake—not the typical Northwoods rental. Enjoy direct boat access to all 28 lakes from the property.

Inside, the home features vaulted ceilings, a gas fireplace, and a thoughtfully designed kitchen you’ll actually want to cook in. The spa-style primary bathroom includes an oversized two-person soaking tub and marble shower.

Outside, lit pathways wind through the woods down to the water and dock. Three furnished porches offer space to relax morning through evening. A forest swing overlook offers one of the most peaceful spots on the property — perfect for morning coffee or watching the sunset over the river.

Located just minutes from over 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.

LIVING ROOM
The living room is the kind of space that makes you cancel your plans for the day. Vaulted ceilings with architectural wood beams, a floor-to-ceiling black-stained oak fireplace wall with built-in shelving, and enough seating to fit everyone comfortably — deep navy sectional, leather chair, and room to spread out.

Windows on every side bring the woods in without you having to step outside.

KITCHEN
The kitchen was built to actually cook in. Twelve-foot island with seating for four, gas range, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, drip + K-Pod coffee makers, blender, steamer, full bakeware set, and every utensil you’d expect at home.

Whether you're doing a big breakfast before a day on the water or a full dinner after a long ride, you won’t need to bring anything but groceries.

PRIMARY SUITE
Wake up to the sun rising over the water through floor-to-ceiling windows — or pull the blackout curtains and sleep until noon. No judgment.

The master suite was built for both. When you're ready, the private bath is waiting with an oversized soaking tub made for two and a floor-to-ceiling green marble shower that feels more spa than cabin.

The second full bath is located just off the main living area for easy access from the bunk room and common spaces.

BUNK ROOM
The bunk room was designed so nobody has to fight over who sleeps where. A custom-built queen loft sits above with a reading nook, bean bag chairs, and under-ledge lighting — it’s a retreat within a retreat.

Below, two twin XL beds each have their own nightstand. Two-tone plastered walls and hardwood floors make it feel like a room someone actually thought about, not an afterthought.

Fully insulated for privacy — what happens in the bunk room stays in the bunk room.

3 PORCHES
Three covered porches, all furnished, all with views.

The front porch runs the full length of the cabin — rocking chairs, an outdoor sofa, and enough room to lose track of time.

The upper rear deck overlooks the Deerskin River through the trees, with a round wood table for four and the kind of quiet that's hard to find anywhere else.

The lower walkout porch connects directly to the lit pathway down to your dock. Rain or shine, there’s always somewhere outside worth being.

THE GROUNDS
Lit pathways wind through the woods down to the water. Handcrafted swings along the way. Benches tucked into the trees.
At night, the rope lighting makes the walk feel like something out of a film. Guests consistently mention it.

BASEMENT
Unfinished and intentional — it’s where the gear lives. Clean, climate-controlled concrete floors and enough room for coolers, equipment, and anything you don’t want cluttering the cabin.
Not a hangout space, but you’ll be glad it’s there.

LOCATION
The Cub House sits on the Deerskin River at the mouth of Scattering Rice Lake, with boat access to all 28 lakes on the Eagle River Chain.
Downtown Eagle River is less than 10 minutes away — a Northwoods town with enough going on to fill a long weekend in any season.

World Championship Snowmobile Derby, Cranberry Fest, Klondike Days, Chain of Lakes Triathlon, National Championship Musky Open — there’s always a reason to come back.

In winter, you're minutes from over 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails — some of the best access in the Snowmobile Capital of the World.

THE BACKSTORY
The Cub House sits where a summer camp lodge once stood. We rebuilt it from the ground up in 2025 — kept the soul, replaced everything else.

We think you’ll feel it the moment you walk in.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING
• Check-in 4pm | Check-out 10am
• Primary guest must be 25+
• One dog welcome with approval ($75 fee)
• No smoking (smoke and air quality sensors in place)
• Lower level unfinished (gear storage only)

SEASONAL NOTE: Landscaping and final dock stair finish complete by May 1. Until then, dock access requires navigating a sandy slope and may not be ideal for guests with limited mobility.

WHO BOOKS THE CUB HOUSE
- The couple who wants quiet days — a soaking tub, a fireplace, and no agenda.
- The family that needs space to spread out without feeling stacked on top of each other.
- The snowmobiler who wants 500 miles of trails and a warm, modern place to come back to.
- The fisherman who wants quiet water and full chain access when it’s time.

If you’re tired of dark, dated cabins that haven’t changed since 1987, this is likely your place.

The Cub House was built for people who want Northwoods access without Northwoods compromise.

Guest access
You'll have the entire property to yourself — all rooms, all three porches, the lit woodland pathways, the dock, and the 2 kayaks (seasonally). Parking accommodates up to 5 vehicles plus a trailer.

Other things to note
No smoking of any kind inside the property, including cigarettes and marijuana. The home is equipped with smoke and air quality sensors — violations will result in a charge to the reservation.

2 exterior security cameras on premises — front doorbell camera and rear exterior camera monitoring the back hillside.
