A true gem! amazing back yard lake and a walk to the beach! Decks are huge and beautiful! The screened porch with ceiling fan is a bonus, esp on hot days & nights. beds are comfy and space was clean with all the amenities!

Very pleased with our entire experience. The house is older and located in a wooded area which makes it hard to keep immaculately clean, but it was still clean despite some small spiders who decided they wanted to build webs inside rather than outside. My husband longs for a relaxing fishing vacation, and I am a hustle and bustle of a beach vacation person, this was the best of both worlds for us both. We plan to return to this property hopefully next year.

Very quiet location with some good shade on the property. The inside was nicely decorated but very close with lots of furniture in a limited space. This makes it hard to clean effectively. One bedroom had a problem with spiders coming out numerous times - probably due to difficulty vacuuming around and under the bed. The living room and family room seemed fine.

We have been using Vrbo since 2018. This property is the dirtiest one.One night I dropped my glasses next to the bed, when I picked them up I also picked up a glob of gray hair. We found several cockroaches, two of which were German cockroaches. We returned one evening to find a small invasion of springtails in the kitchen and bathroom. That is when I finally messaged the owner. I sent pictures of all the bugs and the wad of hair. He replied with "Let me look into it. I have never had a bug issue there. Let me send maintenance to look at the internet. It was just deep cleaned."He later followed up with "The little bugs are midges they spawn and at night with the balcony light on they are attracted to it. I have never in my 10 years saw a roach there. I will send exterminator over and come check the internet."I was essentially accused of leaving a door open and that is what brought all the bugs in. The maintenance guy did come by and listen to all my complaints. He took a dead roach with him, which may have been what convinced the owner that they were there. I guess my pictures were not enough? He does have an exterminator and being transparent all the bugs that I saw on the kitchen floor or bathroom floor where either dying or dead, so I assume that they sprayed before we arrived. We also found a note from a prior guest hidden in their guest book. He complained of the filth too. So this is not a new issue.

We wanted to provide some additional context, as the home is now personally managed by us rather than through a previous management company. Regarding the note found in the guest book, it may have originated during prior management and does not reflect our current standards and oversight of the property. We also wanted to address the pest concerns. Based on the photos provided and the findings during our follow-up, the insects appeared consistent with outdoor water bugs and seasonal insects that can occasionally appear in a coastal environment. We take any report seriously and immediately investigated your concerns during your stay. As part of our commitment to maintaining the home, we operate under a regular preventative pest-control and maintenance program and have not experienced recurring pest issues. Guest comfort and cleanliness are important to us, and we appreciate feedback that helps us continue maintaining the home and the experience we strive to provide.
