About David Blumin
Karen and David arrived here from California in the summer of 1982 aboard their 44' Pembo trawler 'Pilgrim' and settled down in the small original log cabin where they were married the next spring next to their model 1015 Wurlitzer jukebox which played "Big Bopper's Wedding." Thus explaining the photo . The log cabin eventually morphed into the "Log Castle" over the next 30 years ... the result of David's passion and vision aided by many talented and sometimes gifted local builders, architects, tradesmen furniture makers, shipwrights, artists ... all who gave their best efforts and ideas into the seemingly endless project.
David Blumin purchased this House in 1982
Why David Blumin chose East Boothbay
This residence is like a rare a jewel. It is interesting and inique with hidden surprises like hidden closets and secret rooms, many levels with nooks and crannies, yet has the ambiance of serenity and balance. It has every amenity one would expect in a vacation rental on the coast of Maine except a swimming pool or hot tub. New 4,000SF irrigated sod lawn installed in the spring of 2016. All carpets were replaced by hardwood flooring in 2016. A/C in the great room as well as a 7 foot grand piano.
What makes this House unique
The gourmet chef will love this kitchen which has a commercial range and oven and every imaginable piece of cooking equipment. There is also a wood-burning stove for simmering stews etc and an outdoor BBQ with rotisserie. The private dock has 7 feet at low water and the float is only two years old; the aluminum runway is new 2015. The moorings have 3200 and 2200 lb granite blocks and the chains are inspected and replaced as needed.
