Loved the view, home really nice 2 issues we had was missing the key for the outdoor pavilion spoke to property manager previous tenant took by mistake was told we could get a spare key never received, also the air conditioner filters desperately needed cleaning. Would also be nice to have a outdoor firepit.

Lovely home on a cove in Boothbay Harbor

This home is situated on a quiet street, but within a half-mile walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and puffin cruise piers. The house is comfortable and well-equipped, with several nice extras. The house was very clean when we arrived. The location is perfect, and we enjoyed sitting outside by the cove.

I think that if you are looking for a quaint, charming, old New England home, you won't be disappointed. If you are looking for new and fancy with modern features and more hotel feel, this isn't for you. The house reminded us of an old seaman's home. There are a ton of antique looking items on the wall and throughout the home, many with very interesting looks like a picture of a Navy man on the wall next to a very old desk. Beds were comfortable, although if you need firmer pillows you may want to BYO. Showers were good, always hot water. Bathrooms are smaller, but not too small. Kitchen was nice sized, and a nice table in the dining room that 4 people were easily comfortable at. The view is amazing. When it is low tide, there is an old shipwreck in the harbor that you can see, but it disappears at high tide. It would have been great if there was a firepit in the back yard, but it's obvious why there isn't with large propane tanks next to the house back there and not a lot of room. Suggestion to anyone coming up. Plan it for 1 vehicle. We only had the one so it was great, but could not imagine trying to park a second on the property, you'd need to find public parking as there is a shared driveway. Boothbay...OMG what an amazing little town. This house is absolutely walking distance to the main area if you are normally a person who enjoys walking a little. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk into town with a lot of great places to eat and shop, and the people were awesome!

Located on a peaceful cove, we had beautiful views. The pavilion was great for quiet mornings with coffee, afternoon reading, or watching the sunset. The family room was cozy for the four of us, with comfy furniture and a large picture window overlooking the cove. It was fun to watch the tides come and go throughout the day. Our stay in late September came with perfect weather—cool nights in the 50s and highs in the 70s—allowing us to keep the windows open most evenings. That said, there were a few minor issues worth noting. While the main living spaces were generally clean, we did notice some dust in the upper kitchen shelves, and a few dishes there weren’t as clean as expected. It was a quick fix on our end, as we simply washed them before use, but a more thorough cleaning would improve the experience. The dish towels also appeared a bit worn and could benefit from being replaced.Regarding the windows, we experienced some of the same challenges noted in previous reviews—the shades didn’t always function properly, and the downstairs bathroom had no shade. We also had a temporary issue with the front door lock, but the management team responded promptly and communicated well throughout the process, which we appreciated. The location is excellent—just a short walk to local shops, restaurants, and the harbor. Overall, despite a few small improvements that could be made, this was a lovely and comfortable place to stay. We would certainly consider returning in the future.

It's winter in Boothbay, Maine. Not much you can do about that. The issues were wifi internet was non-functioning and the haunted-like house reeked of cigarettes. Other than smelling like an ashtray, it was on brand with nautical themed old sailor paintings and at least a dozen jackolope antler sets. FUN! s/

girls weekend

The location of this home was fantastic just a quick 5-minute walk down into town! The house was clean and had everything we needed. Parking is tight but we managed. The TV was the only issue could not figure that one out. Could not get anything to work with either remote but it was not a big deal for us as we had other things to do. All in all, it was a good stay, and I would recommend this home to others but maybe not with little ones due to all the antiques which seem to take over a bit of the space.

Location 10/10. Nice grassy area directly on the water. We were able to walk to the harbor front & shops (5 mins). Beds were comfy. Bathrooms were adequate. Towels plentiful. House is older & eclectic… we loved it! Super quiet area. Fun fact: there’s a shipwreck in the water right outside the house, visible at low tide.

Perfect Boothbay Harbor location.

This cute eclectic home was in the perfect location for us to enjoy Boothbay Harbor. We were able to easily walk every day to the tourist shopping and eating area. The home had everything we needed to enjoy our stay while in Boothbay. The outdoor area had chairs so we were able to enjoy the sunset looking over the harbor each evening. Communication was above average as they made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. I would recommend this home and stag here again.

Meh

When we got there we couldn’t get the keypad to work. We had to use the side lock box to get in and had to use the key to enter each time. The blinds in each room are TERRIBLE and need to be replaced. The kitchen towels look very dirty. Although it was clean, it needs updated. Get rid of all the “decor”. Less is way better. The remote control to the TV had batteries that were dying. It took forever to change channels and was very frustrating at times. The back/side storm door wouldn’t open all the way. It makes it tricky for someone with limited mobility to get in and out of. A nice update would be a firepit in the backyard. Not a lot of money needs to be poured into it, but it definitely needs some love.

Cozy Cottage on the Water

This cozy little cottage was as advertised and was quite comfortable for the four of us. It has very interesting decor with numerous pieces of antique type artifacts that made for amusing conversations in trying to guess what some of them were. It was very clean with comfortable furniture and well appointed with necessary amenities. Excellent view of the water from the large picture window with an added bonus of a small "pavilion" on the water that would be lovely for cocktails or dinner in warmer weather. Location and access to downtown was excellent. The only problem we encountered during our stay was with the heating system. It was about 40 degrees when we arrived in the evening and the inside temperature did not get to 70 degrees until mid-afternoon the following day. Except for this one issue this would be a five star rating. We would rent this unit again if ever returning to Boothbay Harbor.

Quaint and Walkable

We enjoyed the view from this home and the location very much. Easy walkability to town and having Dunston’s right down the street was a fun perk. The communal spaces are small but cozy. The weather was rainy while we were there so we spent a lot of time nestled up reading and enjoying the view. My only complaint was there was no coffee provided—pretty small gripe and easily remedied!

Nice location, needs refresh

Great location, on water in Mill Cove - so don’t expect ocean/bay views. But was very easily walkable to downtown area, yet isolated from tourist throngs. Check-in was easy but locking up instructions a bit confusing. Bed was clean and comfortable but bedroom furniture substandard and electrical access for nightstands depended upon unsafe use of cheap extension cords. House smelled musty and several windows on first floor could not be opened to air out. Whole house needs a deep clean and refresh. Floors/kitchen shelves were not clean. Several dishes were put away wet and had a brown residue as a result, making us question the quality of the water (needs whole house filter for the well water). Lawn furniture broken. Contractor showed up and started a chimney repair while we were there with no communication from him or owner. The theme is “rustic” but is borderline run-down. Disappointing.
