Highlights
Barbecue
A rare find - perfect for a relaxed, outdoor grilling experience.
Experience the beauty of Oregon wine country at the Gate House, a family-friendly retreat featuring an open floor plan, modern kitchen, and outdoor space nestled at the base of our 40-acre vineyard estate.
THE SPACE The lower level offers a cozy media lounge, with a large tv, seating area, and half bath. The couch transforms into a queen-sized bed, offering an additional sleeping space. Outside the French doors, you'll also find a bistro table, perfect for enjoying the morning sunshine and vineyard views.
The second level features an open-concept layout with a newly remodeled kitchen and a dining area for six. You'll also find a lounge seating area and a workspace. Outside, take advantage of our outdoor grill, dining area, and lounge space, the perfect setting to take in the vineyard views.
The third-level offers two private queen suites, each complete with a full ensuite bath for ultimate privacy and comfort. Each bedroom is stocked with high quality linens and robes are provided. The bathrooms contain towels, basic toiletries, and a hair-dryer.
PETS We are dog-friendly and have a $100 pet fee. Make sure to check the 'traveling with pets' box upon booking, as this is how the fee will be automatically added to your total. While we understand some dogs love to snuggle, we ask that pets remain off the furniture, if possible.
Since we are in the countryside, we do ask guests to keep their pups on leash any time they are out, and of course, practice responsible pet ownership by cleaning up after your animals. You might also see some other four-legged friends wandering the vines during your visit. Our serene setting often attracts deer, neighborhood cats, and even the occasional porcupine. At night, we'll sometimes see (or hear) coyotes, so it’s always recommended that pets do not wander outside alone at night.
THE WINERY As a guest of Bryn Mawr, we invite you to our Tasting Room for a complimentary tasting flight, just a short walk from the guesthouse. From the Tasting Room to the deck to our courtyard, you'll enjoy panoramic views stretching across the entire valley. No matter the season, it's a truly incredible backdrop to learn about Bryn Mawr and experience our wines.
Interested in lunch or a snack? Our Chef, Jonathan Jones, offers a seasonal small plate menu, available daily during Tasting Room hours (11 AM-5 PM).
PRIVATE DINING Our Culinary Director, James Beard Nominee Jonathan Jones, offers a private dining experience for our onsite guests. From a family style feast to an intimate dinner for two to an interactive chef's table experience, Chef Jon is excited to offer a fully customizable menu. Upon booking, we will share his contact information so you can begin to design your perfect dining experience.
THE AREA Ideally located near the towns of Amity, Salem, and McMinnville, the guesthouse offers easy access to nearby grocery stores, restaurants, and cultural attractions. We're also located within a few miles of a number of wineries, including Bethel Heights, Bjornson, Cristom, and Zenith Vineyard and would be happy to provide recommendations based on your interests!

We're so happy you enjoyed your stay! The space was specifically designed for socialization with the open floor plan and I'm glad you took advantage of it! We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
The pictures and description do not do this property justice. The view house is true to its name with a spectacular scenery from every room in the house. It has a great kitchen, and a huge deck with a barbecue and ample outdoor seating and dining. The gatehouse is spacious with separate areas upstairs and downstairs and multiple patios. The winery is exceptional. I recommend the elevated tasting which includes a wine tour, delicious wines, and decadent charcuterie trays. We only live about 25 minutes away yet our stay felt like another world. The weekend was amazing.
The Gate House at Bryn Mawr exceeded my expectations! Not only was the setting in the vineyard beautiful, but the house itself was modern, comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. We had everything we needed, indoors and out. (perhaps an umbrella outside as we had beautiful weather for entertaining) Krista, our host, was so kind, responsive, and accommodating. She met us at the Tasting Room where we were treated like special guests by Jill, our server. I would definitely recommend The Gate House for a family/friends get-away. I only hope we can come back some day. Oh, and our little dog loved all the open space for walks!

Thanks for the kind words and review. We enjoyed hosting your group and meeting the pup and would love to welcome you back again anytime! Cheers, Krista
Just finished my second stay at the Gate House. The reason why I returned is because the place is amazing and has everything you could possibly want in a vacation rental. The photos on VRBO look good, but when I saw the place in person, I was totally blown away by how beautiful, peaceful and picturesque it really is. The house is superbly decorated and has everything you could ask for. From the big TV and leather couches in the downstairs living room to possibly the most comfortable beds you could wish to sleep in - I cannot explain just how much I loved staying here. The kitchen is really well equipped and had everything we needed. I loved waking up in the morning and making some coffee while looking out the windows at the picture postcard vineyard views. We also loved the outdoor space at the back. It was perfect for a relaxed sunny afternoon or evening enjoying some food from the grill and a glass of wine. The house is really well looked after, and every room was so clean when we arrived - absolutely spotless!Krista was a wonderful host. She made the arrival process super easy and was always available to answer any questions we had via the VRBO App.Thank you Krista! We will 100% be returning for another stay!
We had a great stay at the Gate House and will definitely be back. It is such a good value with the proximity to wineries. Also, it’s a really nice, relaxing, clean place to stay while in Willamette Valley. This one will stay in our rotation for trips to the area.
We stayed here while attending a graduation in the Salem area, and it was the perfect place to unwind after a busy and emotional day. The vineyard setting is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by stunning views. We loved sitting outside and taking in the scenery after spending time in town. The property was comfortable, relaxing, and exactly what we were looking for. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway with a true Oregon wine country feel, this is it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
