You can book the Sonnenweg 22 - PAULA holiday home on Lake Diemelsee from October 3– 10.10.2026, for a rental rate of EUR 69 per night + utilities, instead of the regular rate of EUR 89 per night. Imagine your gaze sweeping across the lake and the lush greenery of the Hessian mountain landscape. The scent of fields, meadows, and the adjacent forest fills the air. You take a deep breath and finally have time to let your thoughts wander while enjoying the picturesque cloudscapes.
That’s pretty much how it feels when you’re standing on the balcony of your holiday home, “PAULA.” Right behind you is one of the two bedrooms, each with wonderfully comfortable box-spring beds for two people. Of course, both bedrooms also have a TV. - But with a view like this, you won’t really need it.
Right next door is your very own private wellness area, complete with a sauna, shower, and a tub for a relaxing soak after an eventful day in nature—which begins right on your doorstep.
On the ground floor of the house, next to a guest bathroom, you’ll find the spacious living/dining area. A good glass of wine, an exciting book, or a game night—all complemented by a cosy electric fireplace. And if needed, the sofa can quickly be transformed into an extra sleeping spot.
There’s plenty of space for a cooking showdown in the fully equipped, open kitchen area. Of course, you can also go the classic route with the charcoal grill. Garden furniture, a patio umbrella, and lounge chairs are also provided.
By the way—there’s plenty of space for bikes in the garden shed, complete with a charging station for batteries, and your car parks conveniently right in front of the front door. Awesome! An electric car charging station is available.
Before I forget: a high chair, travel cot, stair gate, TV, Wi-Fi, books, games, and a radio with CD player are also standard features in this family-friendly property. Your furry friend is welcome, too!

Whether you’re seeking peace and quiet, looking for an active holiday, or travelling with the whole family, you’ll experience the best views and unspoiled nature on certified hiking trails and designated mountain bike and cycling routes. For a day trip, crystal-clear streams and romantic villages with historic buildings await your discovery in the immediate vicinity. The Fort Fun Adventure Park in Bestwig, Winterberg, Berleburg Castle, and Willingen—a town known far beyond the state borders among party-loving guests—are also nearby. For now(!), Heringhausen and the Diemelsee holiday village are still considered an absolute hidden gem in the region. However, the local tourist information centre has already undergone an extensive renovation and offers its guests—in addition to the super-friendly and helpful staff—an indoor and outdoor swimming pool with an adjacent wellness and sauna area, as well as an interactive exhibition about Lake Diemelsee.

Hassle-free booking process, great house in a quiet location. We really enjoyed our stay, and the area is a dream—especially with a dog. Just the right place to unwind every now and then. We’d love to come back! .
