Situated on Whiteface Reservoir, a 5.400 acre lake encircled by the pristine wilderness of the Superior National Forest. Enjoy the porch overlooking the lake, spend days kayaking, fishing & swimming, unwind in the lakeside sauna, or relax around a bonfire under the stars. This retreat features a one bedroom main cabin, plus a separate bunkhouse sleeping 6, making it perfect for a family getaway. Enjoy the Boundary Waters–like setting while still being within an easy drive of Duluth and Giant’s Ridge for hiking and dining.

This property was amazing! The location was so incredibly beautiful and serene,. We had the lake entirely to ourselves. They have fantastic mosquito repelling measures in place so we were even able to eat on the front porch. The sauna was so fun to use. We loved the kayaks and dock. It was nice to have them there and not have to pack extra toys. Lifejackets were also available for use. We loved that the boys could take over the bunkhouse and use the outhouse. The house was cute, clean and nicely decorated and well quipped. Barb was so friendly and easy to contact and made booking, checkout, and connecting a breeze.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay because the cabin is in a beautiful location right on the lake, and the setting was peaceful and relaxing.Unfortunately, there were a few significant issues. The biggest drawback was that there was no air conditioning. During warm weather, the cabin became very hot, which made it difficult to sleep and enjoy our stay. If you’re booking in the summer, this is something to keep in mind.The grill had not been cleaned before our arrival and was covered in grease and residue, creating a potential fire hazard. We also couldn’t find a fire extinguisher anywhere in the cabin, which was concerning given the condition of the grill.The location is definitely the highlight of this property, but better maintenance and improved safety measures would make for a much more enjoyable experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful lakefront setting and found the cabin peaceful and relaxing. Like many northwoods cabins, our does not currently have air conditioning and we do try to make that clear in the listing. Although it is rarely needed, we understand that this can be an important consideration when booking during the warmer months. We will be adding air conditioning later this summer, which we hope will make stays even more comfortable. Regarding the grill, we apologize that it was not clean. It appears it was not cleaned after the last use, and we have asked our cleaning team to specifically check the grill between stays going forward. We appreciate guests bringing maintenance issues to our attention so we can address them promptly. For safety, there is a fire extinguisher provided in the cabin and stored in the closet. We’re sorry it was not readily apparent during your stay, and we will consider making its location more clearly identified for future guests. Thank you again for your feedback.

The privacy is second to none. Towering pines relaxing sauna small island very close to swim at as well as the property. Had a wonderful time with family and friends enjoying all the property had to offer.

We chose Whiteface Reservoir for its peaceful, private setting that feels like the Boundary Waters s—yet still offers the comforts of home. Although you feel completely in nature, it's also a easy drive to Duluth, Giant's Ridge or Lake Superior.
