I originally grew up in New England, where I worked as a behavior specialist in an inner-city setting—helping people overcome challenges and reach their goals has always been at the heart of what I do.

I later moved to Pittsburgh for my husband’s job, where I went back to school and earned another Master’s degree in Information and Library Science. I then served as the Executive Director of a large library just outside of Pittsburgh, a role I truly valued for its leadership, community impact, and connection to lifelong learning.

More recently, we relocated to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where I’ve embraced the quiet, slower pace of life. It reminds me a lot of island living—laid back, low stress, and close to nature, which I really love.

It’s also here that I met Todd, the property owner, and became involved with this special space.

After a long career focused on helping others learn, grow, and thrive, I genuinely enjoy making people feel welcome, comfortable, and at ease. Hosting felt like a natural extension of that—creating spaces where guests can relax, smile, and fully enjoy their time away.

Why Cabo? This is really a question for Todd —

Todd is a successful business owner in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and while he loves what he does, it also comes with the daily stressors that come with running a business. Cabo has been his escape for years—his “home away from home.”

Over time, it became the place where he could fully unplug, slow down, and reset. He’s spent many visits here building a real connection to the area—the ocean, the energy around the marina, the incredible fishing, and the laid-back coastal lifestyle that feels so different from everyday responsibilities back home.

What makes it special to him is the balance: active, vibrant days on the water or in town, followed by truly relaxing evenings where everything feels easy and unhurried.

Sharing this space felt natural because it’s brought him so much enjoyment and peace over the years, and he hopes others can experience that same feeling while they’re here.
