The “Eschen” holiday farm, a medium-sized, family-run business operated on an organic basis as a sideline, featuring four beautiful and cosy holiday apartments, is located on Moorweg, southwest of and in the immediate vicinity of the North Sea resort of Esens-Bensersiel on the East Frisian North Sea coast.

Here on our beautiful farm, you’ll find wonderful conditions for a delightful holiday in East Frisia. Our child-friendly home is located near the forest, where you can enjoy beautiful walks away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Early in the morning—perhaps right from your breakfast table—you can watch wildlife in the meadows just outside the forest.

Here, four warmly decorated, well-equipped, and cosy holiday apartments await our guests and their children. The apartments range in size from about 40 to 55 square metres and offer plenty of space for two to five people, or two to four people plus an additional toddler.

In the beautiful, sunny garden, you can enjoy the incredible peace and quiet and the wonderful East Frisian air.

Once you’ve managed to tear yourselves and the children away from our farm and the magnificent expanse of fields and meadows, explore our beautiful region and be sure to visit the lovely North Sea resort and spa town of Esens-Bensersiel.

Moorweg is centrally located with excellent access to all tourist destinations in East Frisia. It’s not far to the coast and thus to the tourist and spa facilities, such as those in the North Sea spa towns of Esens-Bensersiel or Neuharlingersiel.

Moorweg includes the villages of Alt- and Neugaude, Wagnersfehn, Kloster, and Schoo. Kloster and Schoo are villages where a monastery already existed before 1300.

Some of these villages were established in the last century through the excavation of the moor. Not all of the moorland was excavated; in the Schafhauser Forest, you can still find a beautiful stretch of pristine moorland. Just a few kilometres away lies the “Ewiges Meer” nature reserve, which is particularly inviting for excursions into the wild and untouched moorland.

The Schooer and Schafhauser Forests make Moorweg one of the most forested municipalities in northern East Frisia.

By bike, you have—quite literally—the healthiest route across the countryside to the North Sea, the coastal resorts, or the dike. That’s why we, the residents of Moorweg, have prepared a biking and hiking map for you. Our location is ideal for walks, bike tours, and all kinds of explorations of East Frisia’s unique and diverse natural landscape. Enjoy an active yet relaxing holiday on the North Sea and make the most of the North Sea’s invigorating climate.

From Neugaude in Moorweg, you can easily reach all the many destinations and sights that East Frisia has to offer. Visit the East Frisian islands or explore, for example, the beautiful old chieftain’s seats such as Dornum or Lütetsburg, as well as the friendly and cosy towns of East Frisia—for instance, Aurich and Jever are just a short distance away. Another special treat is the Nannen Museum in Emden.

The North Sea spa town of Esens-Bensersiel, located right nearby, has plenty to offer for sports, relaxation, and recreation—including swimming pools, tennis courts, surfing spots along the dike, fitness facilities, beach volleyball, fishing opportunities, and much more. Take day trips to the car-free East Frisian islands and visit numerous old mills, museums, exhibitions, and other cultural highlights.

The North Sea spa town of Neuharlingersiel is also very close by. Neuharlingersiel is a 300-year-old fishing village with an active crab fishing fleet. In the beautiful historic fishing harbour, East Frisian fishing is still actively practised today by many crab fishing boats.
