Overall, the house was a good value for our weekend, and the owner was extremely responsive anytime I had a question.For anyone bringing a boat, although the property looks very close to the lake on the map, there is no usable lake access from the house. A road goes toward the water but is extremely rough with large divots and really only suitable for an ATV or Jeep. The road to the house is fine, with plenty of parking for vehicles and boats. The owner told me beforehand that boat slips weren’t available. A public boat ramp about 5 minutes away worked well for us.The house reminded me of staying at your grandparents’ lake house—older and dated, but comfortable and fairly clean. Some areas needed more attention: a brown substance on several toilet paper rolls upstairs, residue around the kitchen sink, sticky/drink rings on the living room tables, a dirty microwave, dusty artificial plants, and mold in the dishwasher that we cleaned before using.The living room is very dark at night with no dedicated lighting. The wraparound porch and fire pit were great, and having wood available was a nice touch. We also appreciated the 2 full bathrooms and upstairs A/C.Something was getting into the secured outdoor garbage, and we had to pick up scattered trash each day.Overall, a good value with excellent communication from the owner.
