Great experience staying here! The space was beautiful. Very tidy and well stocked (coffee, laundry, etc.) Sean was very communicative and friendly. Close to subway, too. Highly recommend! :)

The property was as listed, clean, quiet, and more spacious than the pictures showed. We enjoyed the special touches that the owner provided: kcup varieties, snacks, bathroom necessities, all necessary kitchen appliances, and games to play. It was close to public transit. The property manager, Sean, communicated well and was speedy when we had a small issue with a low battery on the smoke alarm.
The place was larger than expected. Close to the 2 and 5 trains, not far from buses either! Clean and quiet. Thanks for hosting us! Roof access was a bonus! We loved it here

This was a nice place to stay outside of the city. Parking our car was not hard. Walking to the train was only about 10-15 minutes. Close to a Target and very close to a good bodega for breakfast. The place was clean, nice, and comfortable. Communication was great. Enjoyed the stay and had a good time! Thank you.

this space was a paradise. you can tell the host was incredibly intentional about making this space a nurturing home. They reached out to check in even before we requested needs. it will be our go-to space for our next reunion. there are so many resources for nurturing yourself it would have been a nice add to include a yoga mat. thanks for an amazing stay!

This place was prefect for our family of 5 staying the weekend to visit family. Our host was very helpful and responsive to questions and communications, and the listing was exactly as described. Lots of very thoughtful touches that made us feel more at home, such games, coffee and tea, and most bathroom essentials. The area is easy to navigate and surprisingly quiet at night. Street parking was quite easy for us to find on the weekend as well. Would be happy to return!

2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Check-in, communication, location
The hosts are terrible people. I told them I had a service animal prior to reserving and the took my money and said I needed to be sure my service was not left alone in the unit. He never was. Immediately upon check-in they asked why I needed my SA I gave them the reason but would not disclose the disability. They told me that we did not have a good reason for our SA and kicked us out a few hours later. Indirectly threatening us if we did not leave. We have used hotels and VRBO’s many times and have always been left great reviews and never have any damages. What a way to treat someone who is disabled…. We were scrambling to find another place in NYC within a few hours. We see our attorney this week as this is blatant discrimination! Additionally, I fell because the floors are super slick. So just be aware you need to wear your shoes or grippy socks.

Thank you for your review.
This reservation was made the day before your arrival. During the stay, we asked the two questions that hosts are permitted to ask regarding a service animal. Those questions were declined, and concerns about privacy and legal threats were made on your end. After an alleged fall was also reported, along with safety concerns, we contacted Vrbo and spent more than an hour reviewing the situation with them. Vrbo approved ending the reservation. We regret that the stay concluded this way.
We do not agree with the account of events in this review and have provided our records to Vrbo. We are not able to address the details further in a public response.
The apartment was clean, comfy, and quiet. The kitchen is quite small (hard to fit two people at the same time) but had loads of specialized equipment and appliances (Keurig coffee maker, separate espresso maker, air fryer, waffle iron, blender, food processor, separate additional freezer in pantry, etc.). All of the rooms had ample storage space, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The window a/c units in the living room and each bedroom were extremely helpful for the warm and humid July weather. The hardwood floors are lovely, and the area rug in the living room was a nice feature. There were lots of bath towels and some extra bath supplies, but there wasn't any shampoo, conditioner, or body wash in the shower (not a big deal but good to know in advance). Having the large-capacity washer and dryer in the unit was great!
The only slightly negative aspect to this rental is that the neighborhood environment isn't the greatest. It's not very pretty and has lots of trash around the area, including cars in various states of repair, old furniture, etc. We didn't feel unsafe, but it wasn't the most pleasant area to go for a stroll, unfortunately. The location itself is very convenient, however, with nearby transit stops, a Target, a Starbucks, the Wonder Flatbush food hall, and Prospect Park within walking distance.
Thank you for the 5-star review! We’re glad you enjoyed your stay at The Maple House PLG. Please look us up when you’re in town again—we’d love to welcome you back.
