Cottage with an ocean view, and a minute's walk to private beach access. Perfect for storm chasers: curl up and enjoy a storm with a wood-burning fireplace. Enjoy ~8 miles of sandy beach between Waldport and Yachats. (It is within 50 feet of HWY101, so there is traffic noise, especially in the downstairs queen bedroom).

This is the first floor of Sea Vista. The upstairs remains unoccupied during your stay. Sea Vista is part of Edgewater Cottages. Edgewater Cottages is located on Big Stump Beach. Edgewater is one of the early lodgings along the Oregon Coast, dating back to the 1930s, during construction of U.S. Hwy. 101 (now known as the Pacific Coast Highway) and the completion of the six great coast bridges in 1936 linking the entire Oregon Coast Hwy. Prior to the completion of the highway, ferries transported vehicles across the rivers. Long stretches of sandy beach, like Big Stump Beach, were used as highways by carriages and automobiles during low tide. You are welcome to borrow the binders in our office, which contain historical photographs and articles related to the Oregon Coast.

We also provide firewood (do not burn driftwood in the fireplaces!). We also have a free lending library of movies, games, puzzles, and kites available to our guests, as well as information on the Big Stump, hiking trails, lighthouses, tide pools, restaurants, etc.


We provide toilet paper (we approximate the amount of toilet paper you'll need with your length of stay, but if you need more just ask us for more), bar soap, hand soap in the bathroom and kitchen. We provide cleaning supplies in the cabinets under the sink in the kitchen and bathroom. We do not provide papers towels. We provide at least one new, wrapped sponge and a new scouring pad. (We also include at least one old, used sponge and scouring pad). If there is ever a major mess that you feel like taking care of please contact us and we'll provide cleaning rags (kitchen linens are provided be we prefer to not ruin those).

You are welcome to the first floor of Sea Vista, it's large enclosed sundeck with a partial awning, and its wood-burning fireplace! (The second floor remains unoccupied during your stay.) You are also welcome into our office during business hours where you can checkout books, games, and movies from our free lending library.

Edgewater has been a part of our family since 1962. It is family owned and operated.

Sea Vista is on the west side of HWY101! It is also close to HWY101, so there is noise from the highway! This is very apparent in the queen bedroom on the first floor, where you will be sleeping. We have a white noise machine/alarm/clock combo if the noise from traffic is bothersome. (A silver lining to the downstairs queen bedroom situation is that the sun room, which is on the west side of the building, has a twin trundle bed, if you choose to sleep closer to the ocean---the trundle bed in the living room tends to be popular with young children, so the first floor of Sea Vista can comfortably sleep up to 4 people.)

The entire house can also be rented. The second floor bedrooms are on the west side of the building so noise from traffic is buffered, plus they have large picture frame windows that can be open to let on the sound of the ocean! (The ocean is audible in these rooms even with the windows closed.)

Sea Vista is part of our duplex at Edgewater Cottages. It is not an individual oceanfront cottage. The second floor will remain unoccupied during your stay, and we occupy the other half of the building. We think we are pretty quiet neighbors. Plus, if you have any issues we are right next door to help!
