The Summer House



The Space:

Hidden away on Onekama's secluded Portage Point, The Summer House offers 50 feet of lake frontage and incredible views from a sheltered corner of Portage Lake. On this quiet street near North Point Park, you can spend your days swimming in the shallow bay and launching kayaks and canoes from the dock. Grab a cup of coffee from the fully appointed kitchen and step outside onto the deck to watch the sunrise. Enjoy backyard barbecue picnics while you watch the kids fish from the dock, then settle in for the evening around the fire pit with a few toasted marshmallows. Please note that this property does not have A/C. Things to know Two dogs are welcome for a nightly fee. Please be aware that this home lies in a flood area and occasionally has standing water in the yard after heavy rainfall. The owners raised the waterfront portion of the yard and installed a dirt driveway in 2019 to make your stay more enjoyable, but rising water levels and storms that drop several inches of water at a time still leave large puddles in the roadside yard. Onekama Township recently created a Short-Term Rental Ordinance; please respect this Ordinance so this home can continue to help your family make vacation memories. Awesome location for walking our dogs. View is lovely, great for just chilling out. I think it’s the perfect fishing spot if you have a small boat. My only suggestions would be for a few better cooking pans and a some pieces of Tupperware for left overs. And the deck needs to be refinished. Maybe next year, because we would return, enjoyed the quiet.
