We had 7 of us staying for our first trip to Maine - we loved this location and the house was perfect. The kids had a huge area downstairs to play and watch tv.

Our stay in Cappy's Retreat was the highlight of our New England trip. This is a gorgeous, spaceful and very well maintained property located in a scenic and peaceful area. The kitchen is very ample and the house is ver well stocked with utensils and appliances.

Perfect getaway in nature
This beach house is on a secluded property in the middle of a magical forest that leads to a beautiful waterfront with rocks from which you can enjoy the sunsets. It is super quiet and green, so if it is relaxation you are looking for it’s the perfect place. The property has 3 decently sized bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms and then another bedroom and bathroom downstairs and they even provided us with a crib for our baby. The place is a 20 minute drive from Rockland (a charming coastal town) where you can find great food options, groceries and boat tours. Everything was clean and the kitchen is super well stocked. We loved our time there.

Pleasant stay
Stayed 3 nights with 5 person adult friend group. Comfortable split-level entry home. Recently renovated. Kitchen very well stocked. Comfortable beds. Nice linens. New furnishings throughout. Very clean. Good home for a family vacationing with children. Master bedroom with master bath is nice. Two additional rooms with queen beds upstairs in close proximity to Master Bedroom. Nicely furnished entertainment room downstairs in walkout basement. Has a large TV which would be great for watching movies! On that same floor is another bedroom with bunkbed accommodations for 3 guests and a nice separate bathroom. Young children might feel the bedroom is too remote from the main floor for them. Access to tidal river is down a mowed walking path. Some rocks to sit on and enjoy scenery. River not really visible from home in the summer. Pretty meadow view from living room. Deck with deck furniture is accessible from Living Room and Master Bedroom. Home is in a nice, private and quiet location with reasonable driving access to Rockland and Camden. Thomaston, which is the village most near, provides some interesting shops to explore.
