The Space:

Enjoy country lakeside living at its finest here on the shores of Lake Junaluska. Breathtaking views of the lake can be seen from every window of this home! With a separate living area featuring an additional kitchenette, you and your loved ones will want for nothing when staying here. Guests have full access to the swimming pool, tennis court, cornhole, mini golf, pickleball, and basketball court. There are rentals for paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks to take on the lake, with walking and biking trails around the perimeter of the water. Walk around and tour the small town to find a crepe shop, gift shop with ice cream, and a quaint coffee shop. In the winter, you'll find a ski resort nearby, so bring your skis and snowboard! Step up to the grand covered porch with comfortable furniture overlooking the lake. Inside you'll find a bright interior with lots of natural light. Each room has its own charm, making you feel right at home. You can indulge in a movie night with a large TV mounted over the fireplace for ultimate comfort. Enjoy making memories by playing board games or eating home-cooked meals at the formal dining room table. Prepare grand meals or lake picnic snacks in the spacious kitchen, equipped with stainless steel refrigerator and all the cupboard room you'll ever need. Perfect location with amazing lake views. The layout worked especially well for our group — the upstairs area with the kitchenette felt like its own private apartment, which was great when someone needed a little break from the rest of the group. Spacious, comfortable, and set up really well for families or multiple couples.

The location is beautiful and sleeping accommodations suited our large gathering needs. Our disappointment was the kitchen. It is way too small for preparing meals for a large group and we were very disappointed with the condition of the cookware provided as most items are old, dirty and stained. Our first use of the dishwasher was not cleaned properly and had a disgusting discharge when it drained into the sink.The oven needed to cook at a higher temperature and for a longer duration than normal.

Absolutely loved our stay

This house is just perfect for a peaceful, relaxing time on a beautiful lake in the mountains. We enjoyed rocking on the beautiful front porch, and walking the trail around the lake. The home is well supplied with everything you need to just sit back and enjoy your vacation. We look forward to coming back.

Chapel Side was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room to spread out with a living area both upstairs and downstairs and lots of bedroom space. We enjoyed having meals and playing cards around the large table in the dining room. And of course, the views of the the lake from the front porch were magnificent.

The location was perfect. Size of the property was perfect for our group. Downstairs bathroom is terrible Not enough space for a shower, old type sink and faucet, $ tap in the tub is leaking. Sane sink condition in upstairs bathroom as well. Carpets and furnitures look very old and not clean. Kitchen sink & faucet is broken. I will not recommend this property to anyone.

Lovely fall extended weekend!

We had a wonderful stay. Several family members converged at ChapelSide for an extended weekend to celebrate a wedding. 14 of us had plenty of space Plenty of towels. Plenty of hot water. Loved the front porch. Daily walks around the lake. Walked to get icecream. Close to grocery stores. We ordered BBQ by the pound and quart from Haywood’s Smokehouse….oh my! Fantastic. Kitchen has plenty of utensils, pan, and pots. Note: bring you own spices. We day-tripped Sunday to SocoFalls and Maggie Vally. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

A Lovely Home for a Big Group

The Chapel Side home met our needs with location and supplies. We had more than enough room and never felt crowded. The cleanliness of the house was lacking. The cleaners may have been rushed but we were left with the feeling of “yuck” when it came to the the bathrooms, the bed’s comforters, and external trash cans. The management team, responsible for addressing issues with the home, were slow to respond or didn’t respond at all. They did not come to fix the clogged toilet, a call made on Friday and still not addressed by checkout on Sunday. With a little care and attention to details, the Chapel Side home should provide a wonderful experience for the next visitors.

Great time with great views

Great views. House and kitchen are well appointed. The large porch is fun to sit on and enjoy the view with friends. Only real issue was the downstairs heat didn't seem to work. No matter the setting on the Thermostat, only cool air blew out of the vents (probably ambient). Upstairs worked fine. it was a warmer weekend so between the warmer temps and the gas fireplace the folks downstairs were fine.

Great Spot!

This is a great spot. The house is rustic but has everything you need—excellent access to nature, trials, and adventures. We had 13 and were very comfortable in this house.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely home. The location is great. Easy walking distance to everything. The kids really liked the upstairs livingroom and kitchen. They got to have their own space to hang out while the adults could have fun downstairs. The kids also really enjoyed all the amenities. (Basketball and pickleball were their favorite). We would definitely stay again.
