Truly one of the most incredible places we have ever stayed! Everything about Treedom is first class - the home, check in process, cleanliness, amenities, location, seclusion, and price. The tree house is more spacious than the pictures show and the craftsmanship is top notch. We will definitely stay here again in the future.

Thank you for the wonderful review — I’m so glad our treehouse and all the craftsmanship made your stay special! We’d be honored to host you again next time you’re in town visiting your daughter!
Perfect secluded getaway. Full privacy. Plenty of things to do on property. Perfect for a couples getaway or for a trip away with the kids. Fully plan on having our children experience it in the near future.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Shep! I’m happy to hear our house offered the privacy and activities you were looking for. We can’t wait to welcome you and your children back for another relaxing getaway.
This property is attractive but had a few things that fell short of our expectations. The natural rock steps that lead up to the unit were impractical. Carrying things up the stairs is challenging as you can't always see your step, nor can you guess your footing, and more lights are needed. The excessive bugs inside and around the unit was frustrating; I think more could be done to prevent that. The upstairs has a ladder for access, but it is uncomfortable and inconvenient. You need two hands on the ladder and must go down in reverse—I think this was a design oversight. Dishes are kept near the ground on an open shelf, which isn’t the best considering the bugs/dust. My greatest complaint would have to be the dust/filth in the unit. There were grape-sized dust bunnies under the beds, the windowsills and similar surfaces were covered in a sizeable layer of dust. The corners along walls/floors had cobwebs and dust bunnies. I even vacuumed some of these. Guest allergies were very bothered. It was certainly an unacceptable amount of dust and filth for the price that we paid. There were no issues with the hot tub, the bathroom was fine, plenty of linens and towels. It smelled like fresh wood throughout, the AC units worked great, ample parking, and scenery is great. While it was a unique space, it felt overpriced for the considerations I’ve mentioned above. I was disappointed that a professionally designed treehouse let us down on a few key details.

Jay, thank you for your thoughtful feedback about Treedom, both positive and negative. I am extremely pleased that you found the space, structure and scenery to be top notch. Honestly, I was a little hesitant to rent our treehouse to you because of your multiple criticisms about the space, before you even set foot on the property. It also seemed a bit unfair that you added several extra guests two days before your arrival, leaving us minimal time to prepare for the extra-large group. Regardless, I met each of those conversations and requests with a smile and pleasant communication. What disappoints me the most is that you never sent me a single communication during your time at Treedom, even after I checked-in with you multiple times. I gave you every opportunity to let me fix any issues while you were staying, but you elected to silently make a list of all the negatives and taint your own vacation. Our natural rock steps were carefully installed by hand, we have several pictures of them on our VRBO listing and according to all previous guests, they are very practical and sturdy. Additionally, we have “watch your step signs”, two motion sensor lights and 8 solar lights that line the entire outdoor staircase. Despite having a bug zapper on the deck and pest control that services the cabin routinely, I’ll admit I have seen a bug or two inside the treehouse (as I have with any house, anywhere). The "Brown Marmorated Stink Bug" you are probably referring to, tries to infiltrate spaces in Tennessee this time of year as temps start to cool off. It is ironic that you mention the “Ship’s Ladder”, because we worked with the local permit office to build ours specifically to the Tennessee Builder’s Code. This style is also a common feature in many treehouses and is displayed in several of our VRBO listing photos. We have the treehouse professionally cleaned after every guest and I personally walk through prior to each guest’s arrival, so I don’t understand any of your comments about cleanliness. Many people suffer from pollen allergies, and the treehouse is set on 27 acres of forest, pasture and farmland, so while I do empathize, I cannot accept responsibility for this. I privately and now publicly am offering you a discount, so that we can align the value of your experience with the price that you wish to pay. Again, we appreciate your booking and wish you the best.
The property is a real-life example of the best of human creativity. The design quality and details were unbelievable. The natural setting and landscaping were heavenly. Didn’t end up having time to meet the owners and tour the farm, although we would have loved to! They were excellent to communicate with. We felt cared for and rejuvenated during our stay. It’s a dream for kids and grown-ups alike. This is a one-of-a-kind experience.
