Vacation home not far from the archipelago on the Göta Canal
On the Östgöta coast between Norrköping and Söderköping lies Mem, which is the first lock on the Göta Canal with a lot of boat traffic to look at. The canal was inaugurated here in 1832. In Mem, which is built around the canal with buildings that previously housed Lotsstation, Tullhus, Post, Tullpackhus, Skeppshandel etc. there was also the school which was built about 1890 and in which school was run until 1938.
It is the charming well-preserved school that the Mems Rural Association rents out.
In addition to the school room there is an apartment of about 70 sqm, 3 rooms with 4 good beds. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower. In addition, there is a small cottage with 2 beds. At the back of the house is a cozy garden with large apple trees and the patio has barbecue and outdoor furniture. The house is located in the old village of Mem on the first lock of the Göta Canal. Within a few hundred meters there is Kanalmagasinet with serving, lock, Mems castle, opportunities for swimming and fishing etc..
