The house is old and a bit "out of shape" but it is a gem! The decoration is something to see, really kitsch but we felt really good there, it is really inviting. The kitchen is small but there is everything you can need in it. You also have many fridges, what is really helpful if you have many guests. The garden is small but cozy. The baths are clean too. And it is in a quiet place, close to Monschau, that is really pretty.The owners were really friendly and helpful but you have to know that you will have to pay extra for every little favors. You have a fire bowl in the garden and they will provide you with wood if you pay for it (we did with no hesitation but you have to know it). We cleaned the house like it was asked on our arrival (vacuum cleaning, taking off the bed sheets and towels, cleaning the kitchen, the fire bowl). We were 20 people and everybody did their best. We had a party the night before but we kept the house clean. The owners asked us however to pay 50 (60 if they had to give us a bill) for extra cleaning because "it was not clean enough and they will need professional help". This seemed to be a bit exaggerating for us. As I asked what was still dirty or if I clean myself, the owner simply told me that it would be too long to show me all the places that still needed to be cleaned. I have to say, I didn't find it fair but I was on a rush and had to pay.

Der Check-In durch die "Gastgeber" war überaus freundlich, bei Problemchen waren sie sofort zur Stelle und haben an einer Lösung gearbeitet. Die Bäder waren sehr sauber. Die Küche ist zwar klein, aber man hat alles, was man benötigt. Die eine oder andere Pfanne könnte eventuell mal ausgetauscht werden, für unsere Zwecke hat es aber mehr als ausgereicht.Der Wintergarten lädt zu gemütlichen Abendstunden bei diskreter indirekter Beleuchtung ein.Leider hatten wir das Problem, dass einige Wespen ebenfalls Zuflucht in der Unterkunft gesucht haben, sodass das Lüften sich teilweise etwas schwieriger gestaltet hat, da nur die Terassentür am Wintergarten ein Insektenschutz vorweist.Alles in Allem waren wir aber sehr zufrieden und hatten eine schöne Zeit in Monschau.Sogar unser Stoffpinguin hat nach einer spontanen alleinigen Verlängerung schnell und komplikationslos seinen Weg nach Hause gefunden

Ideaal voor een vriendengroep

Het verblijf was ideaal voor onze groep (4 gezinnen met kinderen) van 14 personen. De sleutel konden we zoals afgesproken vinden in een sleutelkluis. We kregen een erg proper huis ter beschikking. De ligging van het huis is perfect, op wandelafstand van het centrum. De eigenaar was goed te bereiken: op een bepaald moment was er een probleem met een gesprongen zekering, maar de eigenaar heeft dit na een bericht heel snel opgelost.Het was ideaal dat elke kamer een eigen badkamer en toilet heeft. De speeltoestellen (voetbaltafel, snookertafel) waren heel fijn voor de kinderen. De gemeenschappelijke ruimte was groot genoeg en diende bij ons als eetruimte. We misten wel nog een gezellige zithoek en een televisietoestel. De keuken was voor onze groep een beetje aan de kleine kant. De braadpannen zijn ook aan vervanging toe. Jammer dat de veranda niet gebruikt kon worden, (het was er veel te koud) want je hebt vandaar ook een mooi uitzicht op de tuin. Het zou een grote meerwaarde zijn als deze veranda goed verwarmd kon worden. Ik kan het huis zeker aanraden voor een vriendengroep!

Met onze familie fijne dagen gehad, heel positief waren de slaapkamers met eigen sanitair. prachtige omgeving! De ruimtes waren netjes en schoon, je moet wel bedenken dat de mooie serre op de foto alleen in de zomer in gebruik is. Daardoor is de leefruimte alleen in de ruimte met de eetstoelen/ tafels. De keuken is echt klein, en primitief voor een grote groep, wel veel keuken inventaris. Wij waren met 14 personen, dat is maximaal, verder geen bubbelbad, wat wel wordt vermeld en voor de sauna moet je apart betalen. Verder een prima plek
