Check in for an unforgettable holiday experience in harmony with nature.<br><br>Living in harmony with nature<br>Eco-friendly building materials, low-emission heating system, efficient insulation, no harmful paints or varnishes, exclusively natural surfaces—mostly wood and concrete—treated with oils: The sustainable construction of the cabins and the natural design of the car-free property enhance the nature experience in Neugrad. Rainwater is returned to the natural water cycle, and there is virtually no soil sealing. Anti-reflective glass facades store thermal energy and prevent bird strikes; breeding sites have been created for bats, which are ecologically important. And the special highlight: minimised light pollution thanks to subtle exterior lighting. This allows the magnificent starry sky in the Eifel Star Park to shine all the more beautifully.<br><br>National Park<br>In the “Wild West” of North Rhine-Westphalia.<br>Neugrad’s location is unique: on Germany’s western border—in close proximity to the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg—and directly adjacent to the Eifel National Park, which spans 110 square kilometres. Under the motto “Let nature be nature,” flora and fauna are left to follow their own natural laws here. This allows thousands of endangered animal and plant species to repopulate the area. The expansive forests, stream valleys, plateaus, and wooded pastures provide a home for species such as the black stork, eagle owl, tawny owl, raven, and beaver. In early summer, radiant yellow broom blossoms turn the national park golden; in the southern section, even orchid species are native. In the fall, the call of the rutting stags echoes for kilometres across meadows, valleys, and forests. On hikes, you’ll encounter ancient ash trees, chestnut trees, and wild cherry trees.
