About this property

Chalet with winter garden & sauna house, Hohes Venn Nature Park,Dog-friendly

If you've always wanted to spend your holidays in an original American wooden house, this is the place for you. Even the layout of the chalet exudes that typical cosiness.

Chalet Arduina is located 650 metres above sea level on the Ardennes-Eifel ridge on the edge of the small, tranquil village of Ramscheid and is surrounded by a 3000 square metre fenced garden. As is so typical for the Eifel region around Monschau, it is surrounded by a huge copper beech hedge.
In front of the house, an American-style veranda welcomes you and invites you to relax.

You enter the house and immediately stand in the imposing living room with the huge fireplace that reaches up to the roof peak in the open living area. The open-plan kitchen with its large traditional French gas/electric cooker will make any amateur chef's heart beat faster; this is completed by a side-by-side freezer/fridge with ice maker.
The chalet has two bedrooms on the first floor of the house, each with an ensuite bathroom. There are then two further bedrooms on the two galleries. These have an additional separate living area and also direct access to the bathroom. All beds are box spring beds (3x1,80 and 1 x1,60).

As we do not want parties in the house, we have initially specified the number of guests as 4. However, after consultation, up to 8 people are also welcome.
The house is not suitable for children because of the two staircases leading up to the two galleries.

Through four floor-to-ceiling veranda doors you access the sun-drenched large terrace.
A Victorian orangery invites you to enjoy the view of the garden even when it's raining, snowing or cold.
You can sit at the large dining table on the comfortable wicker chairs and reflect on your thoughts or sit together in a merry circle.

On the spacious south-facing terrace (approx. 50 sqm), there is a teak dining table with 2 benches and 2 chairs in front of the outdoor fireplace, which comfortably seats 6 - 8 people. On the adjacent terrace, which is covered by a large awning in summer, a large seating lounge invites you to relax. A smaller covered seating lounge, where you can also make yourself comfortable when it rains, completes the offer. We provide a Weber gas barbecue free of charge.

On another small wooden terrace, a bit off the beaten track, a beach chair invites you to watch the Milky Way under a starry sky, as the chalet is located in the middle of Germany's only Dark Sky Park.
On the right side of the terrace, a wooden walkway leads you through flowering shrubs past a whirlpool filled with steaming water to your wellness oasis.
Here you will find our jewel: our newly built garden sauna with relaxation room, shower and additional wooden terrace. From there you have a wonderful view of the valley. Here, no matter what the weather, all you want to do is forget about time. The perfect escape from everyday life.

Since we love dogs and our family includes two Labradors named Mäxchen and Möhrchen, we know how fantastic a holiday with a dog is. Dogs are very welcome here!
We have dog baskets in various sizes, dog bowls from large to small. We even offer a mobile dog shower with matching towels.
In our securely fenced dog garden, our four-legged darlings can let off steam to their heart's content.

During your walks - along the meadows fenced with hawthorn hedges - you are immediately in the forest, hiking to the romantic fish ponds and along small streams.
In spring, the time of the daffodil blossom is legendary here. These meadows along the Olef are also easy to reach on foot.
If you prefer mountain biking, there are dream trails that cross the border to Lake Bütgenbach and Lac de Robertville and from there to the High Fens - one of the largest raised bogs in Europe.
The Rursee and Kronenburger See lakes are also nearby. Both lakes invite you to swim, paddle and sail in summer.
In winter, the small skiing area 'Weißer Stein' is less than five minutes away by car.
