About this property

Stone house in the heart of Larzac – Nature, free-roaming horses, and guaranteed relaxation

Welcome to Campestre-et-Luc, a preserved hamlet nestled on the edge of the Cévennes mountains, in the heart of the vast wilderness of the Causse du Larzac. This pretty dry-stone house welcomes you to a unique setting, surrounded by a breeding farm with 45 horses roaming free on over 800 hectares. A total immersion in nature, to be shared with family or friends, in a warm and authentic atmosphere.

The house has two comfortable bedrooms: one with a 140 cm double bed, the other with two single beds. Two additional beds are available to complete the accommodation: a sofa bed for two people in the bright veranda, and another sofa bed for one person in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped (hob, oven, refrigerator, dishes), opening onto a welcoming living area. A functional bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet completes the interior. The property can accommodate up to 7 people in a simple, warm, and natural setting.

Tranquility reigns around the house. A shaded terrace allows you to enjoy meals or a moment of relaxation surrounded by nature, with unobstructed views of the wide open spaces of the Causse. Children can enjoy the swings, and a short marked hiking trail leads directly from the hamlet, perfect for a stroll without having to get back in the car. You are in a rare place here, where you can observe horses roaming freely and in complete serenity.

Between the Cévennes National Park and the vast expanses of the Larzac mountains. Many remarkable sites are accessible in less than an hour: the Cirque de Navacelles, La Couvertoirade (ancient Templar city), Montpellier-le-Vieux, the Hérault Gorges for canoeing, the local caves, and the Mont Aigoual Observatory, the last inhabited mountain weather station in France, with spectacular views from the Pyrenees to the Alps. The river is 20 minutes away for a natural swim, and a public swimming pool is about 30 minutes away. In 1.5 hours, you can reach the Mediterranean beaches or the Roquefort wine cellars.

Two unique sites are within walking distance of the house: the Régagnas Horse School, a training and ethical riding center, and AGIR Céramique, a workshop-gallery that also offers workshops for ceramic arts enthusiasts. These activities reinforce the unique identity of the hamlet, focused on nature, creation, and sharing. The passionate and discreet hosts will welcome you with simplicity and kindness for a rejuvenating stay off the beaten track.

Pets are welcome for an additional fee but must be kept on a leash on the property. We can provide bed linen and towels for a small additional fee.

- Pet allowed payment 40,00 € per pet
