I was born in Medellín Colombia in 1967, my parents took me to San Francisco in Sept 1968, we thought we'd only stay for a few years but it turned into a lifetime. In 1977 we moved to Marin County and have been there ever since, but we also had stints off and on in Colombia, and 9 years in Tuscany. I have been an Airbnb host for 14 years, and we just started this year with VRBO for the property in California, and for my apartment in Colombia near Medellín. I'm 59 now and dividing my time between California and Colombia each year.

Why they chose this property

El Retiro is simply the most beautiful town in Antioquia that is within the immediate metropolitan area. It also has become a cuisine hotbed of sorts within the oriente Antioqueño. So I love the town itself, the weather, the architecture, the mountains, and the people that El Retiro attracts.

What makes this property unique

It's beautiful inside and out, has incredible views of the entire town and the flanking mountains, you can see the sunrise and sunset, and it's really close to downtown but far enough outside of the main square to be peaceful and quiet.
