Our host, Claudio, is the finest of men. Thoughtful, generous, easy-going and great company. His house is wonderfully quirky, with all we needed and more for a lovely week. This is not a sterile, cheaply equipped with standard place settings sort of place; expect to find half a dozen corkscrews, an odd assortment of many different bowls, kitchen knives I was happy to avoid by using my own, and a slightly odd but absolutely fine layout.Outside space is remarkable. We followed the sun with breakfast and supper tables under different canopies, choosing shade as the day warmed up. Lizards scuttled around, many different birds called (Merlin bird app is very valuable here!), sheep bells tinkled in the distance and meals took on the slow and gentle Sardinian pace. Claudio's garden is beautiful and continues to his vineyard and orchard. Again, smartphone helped with a plant identification app!The track to the house is fine, the road to the track is poor in places. Our rented Skoda Octavia was okay, I'd recommend leaving low sports cars at home. Lovely walking, though, with several circulars of varied distance.Claudio, it's been a privilege to meet you and stay in your wonderful house. Thank you.
