My best friend and I stayed here for a girl's trip and had the very best time. It was super clean and communication was excellent. We didn't explore the neighborhood too much, but it seemed safe and we were only a couple blocks from the subway which made making it downtown super easy!
Ben was undoubtedly the BEST vrbo host we have ever had! The place was spotless, and we were able to check in early to accommodate our flight schedule. Ben was kind enough to go the extra mile and check in with us to see if we needed anything. His attention to detail was impeccable. There’s lots to do around this place. Walk, bus, subway, you name it. We had the most wonderful time in the city, and we cannot wait to be back! Thank you so much, Ben!
I had a 10/10 experience staying at this property! It was more than enough space, and awesome to have a full kitchen and king sized bed. I stayed here with my mom, for our first time to NYC, and it was beyond our expectations. About a 5 minute walk from the subway and there is a corner store is feet away, there was even a laundromat and 24/hr grocery store within walking distance. Ben was an amazinggggg host, I could go on and on about how sweet he is! He called in advance to make sure nothing changed and had no problems with us checking in/out late. The property is super secure, you have your own code and there are 3 doors you have to unlock to get to your room. I will definitely be coming back here soon specifically because Ben made my trip feel like I was at home! I wish I could keep this place a secret, but it is definitely a hidden gem. It was very clean as well and also felt like a hotel because of the towel and bedding quality.
We had a wonderful stay! The apartment was newly renovated, spotless, modern, and honestly even better than the pictures. Everything felt brand new, the bed was very comfortable, the AC worked great, and the kitchen had everything we needed, including a large fridge, microwave, stove, and a fully stocked coffee station.Check-in was super easy. The building also felt secure, with two entrance doors plus the apartment door all using electronic passcodes. The location was convenient: Central Park is about a 6-minute walk away, there are groceries and bodegas nearby, a bus stop right in front, and subway stations about 7 minutes away in either direction. We came home quite late a few times and personally never had any issues by being cautious. Most importantly, Ben was an amazing host. He welcomed us with rosé and cupcakes, held a parking space for us, regularly checked that we had everything we needed, responded very quickly, gave us great local recommendations, and even left us a parting gift. You can tell he genuinely cares about his guests. We would absolutely stay again!
Ben’s place is wonderful. The apartment is beautiful, nicely renovated, & very comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable, & the brownstone’s renovated lobby is adorable. I loved the coffee bar with syrups and flavored creamers, you rarely see that in a short-term rental! The location was perfect for my trip. I was at a conference at the Barrio Museum/Museum Row, just a 9-minute walk away. The subway is a quick walk from the apartment, & the 6 train gets downtown in about 20 minutes. I didn’t need an Uber once I arrived. There are also plenty of grocery stores, cafés, & places to eat nearby. The value was excellent compared with downtown hotel prices. A couple of things to know: there can be nighttime noise from the neighborhood and other, what seemed to be, short-term guests in the building. I had one quiet night, but another night I was awakened around 2 a.m. by guests shouting in the stairwell. That experience can be a toss up based on who is next to you during your stay. The mini-split provides good white noise, so I kept it running at night. The neighborhood has a noticeably rougher feel than tourist areas, with street trash and a prevalent marijuana smell. I did appreciate the building’s two locked entrances. Ben was an excellent host, very communicative, attentive, and thoughtful, even checking in about making my arrival after a red-eye more comfortable. Overall, a beautiful apartment, excellent host, great value, and very convenient location.

About the host
Your host
I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but for as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by New York City. I was drawn to its incredible history, diverse cultures, beautiful architecture, amazing food, and, of course, the energy that makes this city unlike anywhere else in the world. Eventually, that love for New York inspired me to make the move and call NYC home.
Living here has only made me appreciate the city more. There’s something special about stepping outside and knowing that around every corner there’s a new neighborhood to explore, a great restaurant to discover, an interesting person to meet, or a piece of history hiding in plain sight. I love everything from the excitement of Manhattan to a quiet walk through Central Park, discovering a tiny neighborhood café, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of everyday New York life.
That’s a big part of why hosting has become a dream of mine. I genuinely love the idea of welcoming people from around the country and the world and giving them a comfortable place to call home while they experience New York for themselves. Some guests may be visiting for the very first time, while others have been coming to NYC for years, but I want everyone who stays with me to feel welcomed, comfortable, and excited about their time here.
For me, hosting is about much more than simply providing a place to sleep. It’s about hospitality and helping create a great experience. I enjoy sharing recommendations, pointing guests toward neighborhood favorites, and helping them discover some of the things that made me fall in love with New York in the first place.
I feel incredibly fortunate to call this city home, and being able to share a little piece of it with my guests is truly a dream come true. I look forward to welcoming you to New York and hope you leave loving this amazing city as much as I do!
