I’m originally from a small town in South Texas, where I grew up on a farm. Life has taken me to some interesting places over the years, including Tucson, Arizona, several Texas border towns, and Edmond, Oklahoma, where I raised my two children. Four years ago, I traded city life for lake life—and I couldn’t be happier!

My career has been just as varied. I’ve been a high school teacher, a county extension agent, an assistant principal, and the director of a disciplinary alternative school in Uvalde, Texas. I also owned and operated a retail embroidery shop in Edmond, Oklahoma.

These days, I’m happily retired and enjoying life at the lake. I spend my time playing pickleball, mahjong and bridge, attending an exercise class, and serving as president of a local ladies’ club FLEAS.

And yes, you read that right—I’m the president of FLEAS! But before you get too concerned, it stands for Friendly Lake Eufaula Area Supporters. 😊

Life at the lake has given me the perfect combination of relaxation, fun, friends and family—and I’m loving every minute of it!

Why they chose this property

It’s a very peaceful, fun part of the lake. We have a great neighborhood where we meet up and swim together in the summer by the boat ramp. We have community activities like a poker run and bbq’s. But most importantly I have the best view on the lake. I have 180’ view of beautiful water and shoreline. I don’t have rowdy neighbors and have quiet water to fish, ski, surf, or just swim. There is a 30 minute by boat outing you can venture to find some great cocktails at Marina 9, fuel for your boat or have an ice cream treat. You are a short shot to Eufaula marina where our two favorite restaurants by boat are located. Captain John’s and Tumbleweeds will not disappoint. You can also drive to all locations.
