About this property

Hideaway mit Blick auf Val D'orcia

At our slow-living hideaway, you’ll find peace, style, and the luxury of simplicity. Enjoy the warming rays of the morning sun and practice yoga in the tranquility of nature. The small medieval village of Monticello glistens just a stone’s throw away, and the Val d’Orcia, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, lies in the distance—yet feels so close.

The meditative atmosphere of our Casa Del Conte—the 17th-century Piccholomini hunting lodge nestled in the heart of Parco Dell’Olmo—allows you to rest, ground yourself, and recharge, far removed from the hustle and bustle and the digital world. With your mountain bike, you can explore the wild nature of the Maremma hills right from the house.

The interiors of the hunting lodge, restored in 2005, are designed with a love for detail and natural elements, offering a minimalist, aesthetic interior design.
The small village of Monticello seems untouched by tourism, yet it has everything you need: a bar, a butcher shop, a supermarket, and a small restaurant.
Highlights of your stay include concerts at Castel Argiano, in the Colle Massari winery’s own concert hall, and at Castel Banfi—as well as, of course, a hike through Daniel Spoerri’s art park in Seggiano.

In the spring and fall, excursions to the Etruscan towns of Bagno Vignoni and Sarturnia, with their hot springs, are a special experience.
Our special insider tip for a quiet sandy beach in the middle of the long bay stretching to Castiglione della Bescaia is Fiumara, which has a wonderful little restaurant where you can sit with your feet in the sand. Afterwards, you can watch the kiteboarders or try your hand at kiteboarding yourself.
