Whether relaxing indoors or exploring nearby, this wonderful home offers a cozy retreat after a day of adventure. Fall in love with Suwannee County and enjoy the magic it has to offer, as well as other nearby areas.

Springs & Cave Diving:
The Hidden Gem is a five-minute drive to the local Charles Springs County Park, a fifteen-minute drive to Wes Skiles Peacock Springs, a twenty-minute drive to Lafayette Blue Springs, and many more! Whether you are eager to explore the underwater cave systems or relax and tube down a recreational spring, there is a spot for everyone. The locals like to "spring-hop" as they boat down the Suwannee River, visiting the local off-the-map springs such as Telford Springs!

Steinhatchee & Scalloping:
Want to spend your summer vacation scalloping in the Steinhatchee area without all the downtown fuss? The Hidden Gem is a great place to recluse into the woods before and after heading out to the Gulf of America to scavenge for and limit out on scallops, only a 45-minute drive to Sea Hag Marina! There is plenty of room for truck & boat trailer parking at our place for you AND a few friends! If you want to travel light, Sea Hag Marina also offers affordable boat rentals for your scalloping adventure!

SxS and Four-wheeler Riding:
In such a rural location, guests can explore the dirt roads and a few local trails on a SxS or a four-wheeler. It is not uncommon to see the locals pulling up to Charles Springs in their offroad vehicles. If you are using the Hidden Gem as a pit-stop to a larger off-road adventure to Ocala National Forest or southern Georgia, you won't be disappointed and feel free to unload the trailers for some local exploration.

Branford Farm Stand and Area:
In the Springtime, visit the Branford Farm Stand for fresh U-Pick wildflowers and fruits around Mother's Day. In the Fall, the Branford Farm Stand is well-known for its pumpkin patch and festival activities throughout the month of October. Branford is also known for its large fireworks display and small-town parade during the 4th of July.

Wild Adventures Theme Park (Valdosta, GA):
The Hidden Gem is also within an hour drive from Wild Adventures Park in Valdosta, GA, an affordable family theme park with zoo animals, rides, and coasters. Visit in the fall and winter for holiday themed decor and experiences!

College Football Games: FSU & UF:
We all know how hard it can be to visit the college towns and find a place to stay, especially with last minute tickets. The Hidden Gem can be an additional perk to your weekend football getaway to either Florida State or the University of Florida, as Live Oak is a great halfway point to each.

About the host

Hosted by Tanya Singley

Host profile image
Cole and I are native to the Treasure Coast of Florida and we enjoy anything outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping, four wheeling, and swimming!

Why they chose this property

As an adventurous family ourselves, we chose to share this space so other families can also enjoy what the area has to offer: scalloping, fishing, spring-hopping, backroad riding, and enjoying the scenic farm land. This area reminds us of our own hometown (Fort Pierce) and what it was described to be like 50+ years ago.

What makes this property unique

Cole and I designed, built, and decorated this house ourselves. This is a custom built home with many high end features that you won’t find at another average stay. It is completely hidden from the public and provides a true out-in-the-woods experience with several different experiences nearby, including a spring literally 5 minutes down the road.
