Two stunningly beautiful apartments, located near the Viehmarkt, invite you to spend your holiday in the charming, picturesque little town of Hillesheim, known for its mystery novels. With approximately 14 square metres of living space (accessible via a staircase), you’ll find everything you need for a holiday or a short getaway. Both apartments are equipped with a double bed, TV, Wi-Fi, and a small kitchenette featuring two hob burners, a sink, a kettle, a refrigerator, and a microwave. You can comfortably enjoy the breakfast you’ve prepared yourself at the table. In addition, the spacious table is perfect for playing board games or getting work done—making the apartments ideal for business travellers as well. The bathroom is functionally equipped with a shower, sink, toilet, and a hair dryer plus shower gel. In front of the house, you’ll also find small seating areas nestled among bamboo, where you can watch the street life unfold while enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. For the duration of your stay, we provide 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, and 1 guest towel. We’ll also have 1 bottle of water per person, a small selection of various teas, and the first packet of coffee for your welcome cup upon arrival ready for you.

The holiday rental is located in the guesthouse at the Viehmarkt, in Hillesheim—the “capital of crime fiction”— on the ground floor of a building over 100 years old and is accessible by stairs.
It measures 74 m² and features 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen, and 1 bathroom. The larger bedroom has two single beds, a three-door closet, and a luggage rack. Here, in the bedroom, there is also enough space to set up a travel cot. The smaller bedroom is furnished with two single beds and a desk with a chair. Both rooms are accessible from the guest hallway. The living room, with its spacious pull-out couch, invites you to simply put your feet up and wind down the evening with some good music or TV. Look out the living room windows and you’ll enjoy a superb view of the adjacent livestock market, where there’s a lively bustle every Thursday (market day). Also, across the street is the Eifel-Alm, a unique dining experience. All three rooms are also equipped with exterior shutters, which ensure the rooms are completely darkened. The spacious kitchen offers a fantastic view of the former 13th-century city wall as well as a view of the Bolsdorf Valley, with its 1.5-km-long barefoot trail and its 22 stations, along with numerous hiking trails. In addition, looking out the kitchen window, you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets. The spacious kitchen table seats 6 people plus a high chair, so the whole family can comfortably gather here to play board games after dinner. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, toilet, sink, hair dryer, and a potty. A changing pad is also provided, as well as a baby bathtub and a double set of children’s tableware. A washing machine and dryer are located in the small utility room of the guest apartment and can be used free of charge. The tourist tax of €1.50 per person is included, as is one bottle of still water per person and one bottle of wine upon arrival, as well as utility costs. Bed linens and one large and one small towel per person (for use during your stay) are charged at €15 per person.
The price for final cleaning is €80/€30.
The apartment was renovated in 2022, and with the exception of the kitchen and its appliances, the furnishings are new. Nevertheless, the charm of the old house has been preserved, which you’ll sense as soon as you enter.
Access to the guest apartment is via the courtyard (fire brigade access). A garage space is available here. There is also a small seating area in the courtyard. If you walk down the adjacent steps, you’ll immediately reach the primary school on your left. The primary school has a small indoor pool, which is open to the public in the afternoons. So: Pack your “swimming costumes.” You can enquire about the exact opening hours by calling 06591 4538. Additional indoor pools are located in Gerolstein (approx. 9 km) and Jünkerath (approx. 13 km).



On-site costs: The holiday rental is designed for 4+1 people, with the 5th person sleeping on the pull-out couch in the living room. The price is €120.00 per person per night and increases by €15.00 for each additional person and night. Starting with the 7th night, we are pleased to offer you special rates. The prices listed are subject to change and may be adjusted at any time. The tourist tax of €1.50 per person is included, as is one bottle of still water per person and one bottle of wine upon arrival, as well as utility costs. Bed linens and one large plus one small towel per person (for use during your stay) are charged at €15.00 per person. The price for final cleaning is €80.00 or €25.00. Note on the guest tax: To promote regional tourism, overnight guests staying at accommodation in the Gerolstein municipal association—including the municipalities of Hillesheim, Bolsdorf, and Niederbettingen—have been required to pay a guest tax of 1.50 euros per person per night since 01.01.2024. Children aged 0–5 and business and educational travellers are exempt from this fee.
